News on the Early WrestleMania XXX Plans for Ryback, Lesnar and Undertaker
Plans are underway for WrestleMania XXX (from WWE.com)

WrestleMania XXX may be several months away, but it seems WWE is already mulling over ideas for megastars like The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar and, er, Ryback.

In this week's (subscription required) F4W Newsletter, Bryan Alvarez notes that early plans indicate that The Undertaker may be headed for a showdown with new Paul Heyman client Ryback. "The Deadman" vs. Lesnar is also an option:

Undertaker hasn't committed to working the show yet, but my gut tells me he almost certainly will. If he does, there is talk of doing Undertaker vs. Ryback. The story would be that Paul tried to get his guy (Punk at the time) to beat Undertaker last year and his guy failed, so this year he has a bigger, stronger guy to try to end the streak. I believe this is subject to Ryback getting over big. If not, the other idea is doing the Undertaker vs. Brock match that has been talked about for a while, with basically the same Heyman tie-in.

Let's look carefully at these options.

Lesnar vs. Undertaker at WrestleMania has been talked about for years, even since the pair's memorable confrontation at UFC 121.

Sure, a Lesnar/Undertaker matchup would be a must-see, but it needs to be examined practically.

The ailing Undertaker has been plagued by various injuries in recent years (even one match a year almost seems like too much for the guy), and Lesnar is known for his extremely stiff and hard-hitting in-ring style.

This is part of what makes Lesnar so great, of course, but it also means he might be a very unsuitable opponent for "The Deadman." (And The Undertaker's pride and need to have the best match on the WrestleMania card probably wouldn't allow him to go along with a situation where Lesnar holds back considerably.)

One month on from his brutal clash with Lesnar at SummerSlam, and the younger, healthier CM Punk is still limping around and seems like a shell of himself. How exactly would 'Taker fare?

As for Ryback vs. The Undertaker? That doesn't sound terribly appealing to me personally, but others may feel differently. I have to wonder if Ryback is even going to still be relevant by next April.

And, if the bout even does place, what are the chances of The Undertaker managing to have one of his classic WrestleMania MOTY candidates with the behemoth?
