As you probably know, the WWE had been promoting that the Big Show would be returning during Monday night’s Raw.

Unfortunately, this touted return never came to fruition and the company magically avoided mentioning anything Big Show related during the broadcast. Now, word is coming from F4WOnline.com (via WrestlingInc.com) that Show is still not ready to come back to the ring.

The article states:

The reason Big Show didn't return on last night's RAW may be because of his knee injury. Show was still limping as recent as the Money in the Bank pay-per-view. WWE officials may want him back early so they can shoot an angle for SummerSlam.

As it stands right now, the WWE really has no reason for him to hurry back. The fact is, SummerSlam’s card is shaping up to be a pretty decent show, so chances are there really wouldn’t be anything formidable for him

Even though the article mentions that the company wants him back to shoot an angle for the upcoming pay-per-view, I can’t think of one person that would buy or avoid the event based on his presence alone.

Ultimately, I guess the question the WWE needs to ask itself is: Does it make sense to bring him back for a lackluster bout?

As a fan, I say no.

Honestly, I’d rather see a younger crop of wrestlers duke it out in the same lower midcard spot that Show would have filled. Simply put, he is a legend in the business and has done it all. This, to me, is enough of a reason to let him sit it out until he is fully geared up and ready to go.

Not only would it force the company to try out other stars, it would also give the WWE a chance to put him in a proper feud instead of just tossing him in a meaningless one-off match.

In the end, we will have to wait and see how Show’s injury heals. For all we know, he could just need one week and be up and ready to go by next Monday.
