Ever since the Miami Heat were crowned champions, we’ve seen one of the most entertaining drafts in league history and a wild free-agency period in which multiple big-name players have made splash signings.
Now we’re on the cusp of beginning a revamped summer league, in which tournaments will be held and champions will be decided for the first time since the conception of these events almost 10 years ago.

New Format
Every team will participate in five games, minimum, during the six-day event. Each game is worth a total of seven points, including three for winning outright and one per winning quarter (0.5 awarded for ties.)
Points will impact seeding on championship day and ties will be broken by point differential, points allowed and coin flip—in that order.

Las Vegas Summer League
When: Friday, July 12 through Monday, July 22
Where: Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion, Las Vegas, Nev.

New Format
A championship will be crowned for the first time since the invention of the summer league, as teams will fight for seeding up until July 16. After that, a single-elimination tournament will begin and culminate in a championship game on July 22.
Each one of the 22 participants is guaranteed at least five games over the 11-day period.
