Bubba Watson is a jerk.
At least, that is what a great many of you might think when watching this short video of the golf star taking his caddie to task for picking the wrong club.
In all honesty, we were dangerously close to seeing the very rare golfer/caddie boxing match. At the very least, Watson was traipsing towards a couple of noogies for the man on the bag, Ted Scott.
Thanks to Reggie Noble of BroBible, we now know the kind, wonderful and amazing Watson can be just as short-tempered and awful as very frustrated amateur golfers.
We also have evidence that arguably the worst gig in sports has to be lugging around Watson's clubs on a hot day at the Travelers Championship.
It seems Watson had a two-shot lead in the final round of the tournament heading into an ill-fated 16th hole, and the video picks up from there. The star had just dropped one into the water hazard and immediately blames his caddy with, "Water. It's in the water. That club. Yes, the water."
Watson takes a drop and then bashes the shot to the other side of the green, which resulted in a classic, "So you're telling me that's the right yardage?"
The Times report goes on to say Watson allegedly picked up his own golf bag afterward to apparently ridicule his own caddie.
If true, an already thankless and exhausting job became all the more taxing.
I understand athletes go through an extreme amount of stress, but you never show up your caddie in front of the gallery and a captivated television audience.
Perhaps Watson should carry his own clubs from here on out.
