Just Beat It (Ohio Wrestling League - Show No. 6)

Jeff D GormanApr 19, 2009

Eight wrestlers battled tonight for a spot on the Ohio Wrestling League roster. The departure of Mike Quackenbush opened a contract to wrestle on every OWL show.

The winners of the first four matches met in a Fatal Four-Way for an OWL contract.

Match 1: “Secret Agent” Steve Blackman beat Ballz Mahoney with a karate kick to the face.

Match 2: In a Raven’s Rules match, Chris Harris pinned Raven.

TYSON TOMKO debuted on this show, chokeslamming Raven through a table.

Harris put his own “Future Endeavors” jacket on Tomko to signify his newest team member.

However, the Endeavors are still battling for a permanent spot in the company after losing their stable contract to Pope Elijah Burke and The Congregation on Show No. 5.

Match 3: Justin Credible pinned Hallowicked after his “That’s Incredible” piledriver.

Quackenbush had the right to nominate one of the eight men to compete, so he picked his Chikara student, Hallowicked.

Match 4: Sean "X-Pac" Waltman defeated Joey “Magnum” Ryan (from the West Coast indies and Wrestling Society X) after a top-rope legdrop.

Justin Credible came to the ring to congratulate X-Pac and to talk about strategy for the four-way match.

During intermission, “Dojo Boy” Chuck Palumbo placed a single white glove on everyone’s seat.

To start the second half of the show, the DJ cued up “Beat It” for the debut of the Lucha Libre tag team, Los Michael Jacksons (Thriller & Dangerous).

Match 5: Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana & Josh Prohibition defeated Los Michael Jacksons when Josh pinned Dangerous with a T-Bone Prohibition-Plex.

Cabana & Prohibition then challenged the OWL tag team champions, “M-Dogg 20” Matt Cross & Teddy Hart to a non-title match.

Match 6: Prohibition pinned his former partner, Cross, with the Drunk Driver to win the non-title tag match.

Match 7: The Congregation (Pope Elijah Burke, 2 Cold Scorpio, and Elix Skipper) defeated Fabulous John McChesney, Blue Meanie, and Ernest “The Cat Miller.

Skipper pinned Meanie with the Play of the Day. The Cincinnati crowd reacted positively to The Congregation, because they didn’t see the Congregation’s win over their favorite team, Chris Harris and the Future Endeavors, on the Cleveland show (OWL doesn’t have TV yet).

Match 8 “The Risen Angel” B.J. Whitmer (with Allison Danger) defeated Xavier (with Simply Luscious).

The ladies got into a catfight at ringside, distracting Xavier long enough for Whitmer to catch Xavier in a triangle choke for the tap out.

Whitmer explained that he has spent the last 18 months studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, so he now wants to be known as B.J.-J. Whitmer.

Match 9: Kanyon pinned “Dojo Boy” Chuck Palumbo clean with the Kanyon Cutter.

Palumbo was exhausted from working all over the arena for six hours.

Match 10: OWL champion Joey Mercury grabbed the tights to pin Paul London.

Match 11: Fatal-Four Way Match for an OWL contract

"Wildcat” Chris Harris thrilled the Cincinnati crowd, on the sixth show, by FINALLY winning a permanent spot in the company. He pinned Justin Credible with a victory roll.

X-Pac and Justin Credible worked together to slam Blackman into the post before concentrating on Harris. Their double-teaming backfired, and Harris scored a surprise win.

The Future Endeavors came to the ring (including Colt Cabana, who won a bet with Harris and will repackage this group on the next show) and they celebrated with Harris in the crowd.

X-Pac and Credible were in the ring, feeling dejected, when “Money” by Pink Floyd began to play.

Sean “Val Venis” Morley came to the ring wearing a neck brace after taking a piledriver from Joey Mercury on the last show.

“You guys are too good to have to fight for a position on this show,” Morley said. “I think it’s time you guys worked for me. You should work for MorleyCorp.”

“If you’re not sure, I brought an old friend to help you make up your mind.”

(Music: Yo, you dealin with the X-factor!

I got all I every wanted and I’ll never give that baaaack...)

ALBERT came to the ring and chokeslammed Blackman. Albert hugged his old X-Factor teammates, Credible and Waltman. They signed as the first members of MorleyCorp…whatever that is…
