Heavyweight Boxer Wladimir Klitschko Is Marrying Actress Hayden Panettiere

“Of course Wladimir Klitschko is marrying Hayden Panettiere!” said no one, ever.

According to Us Weekly, the WBC heavyweight champion and actress Hayden Panettiere recently got engaged, but hadn't gone public with their decision. 

The engagement between the 6’6” boxer and his 5’2” bride-to-be was to remain a secret, according to Us Weekly. A friend of the two allegedly told the publication they’re trying to keep things hush-hush and that Panettiere “isn’t wearing her ring publicly yet.” 

The unlikely couple began dating several years ago, but broke up in May 2011. Since their split, the two have been seen together on several occasions, the most recent being a courtside appearance at a Miami Heat game on March 24.

Based on that information, it sounds like Klitschko is playing some post-Soviet shadow games in the name of privacy. Or perhaps his 23-year-old bride wants to surprise her ma and pa with the news that she’s marrying a 37-year-old Ukrainian boxing legend. 

This development is the most recent headline for Klitschko since the heavyweight defeated Poland's Mariuz Wach in November 2012. Klitschko’s current record stands at 59 wins (50 KOs) and three losses.

Us Weekly’s source claims that the couple is planning a summer wedding. If the news is indeed true, we wish the couple the best and hope wedding arrangements don’t undermine Klitschko’s preparation for his May 5 bout against Francesco Pianeta.
