WWE has decided on an official name for the pairing of Funkasaurus Brodus Clay and Tensai. The two large, dancing men will be known as "Tons of Funk."

ProWrestling.net revealed that Clay and Tensai announced their name at the tapings for WWE Main Event. Someone from Cageside Seats apparently heard the news as well because they tweeted the following.

Earlier this year, the team took to Tout in the hopes that WWE fans would help determine their name. It worked for Daniel Bryan and Kane, right?

Fans posted suggestions in the comments section that included excellent ideas like "Funk Train" and insults like "The Channel Changers."

All teams, regardless of their position in the WWE hierarchy, should have a team name. It gives a duo a sense of unity. The name Clay and Tensai ended up with is fitting and funny.

Giving Clay and Tensai a moniker shows that WWE is at least somewhat committed to having them stick around. When fans clamor for tag team division depth, Tons of Funk is likely not what they had in mind. Still, a comic relief team has its place.

If WWE wants to make a heel team look strong, merciless or vicious, it simply has to pit that squad against Tons of Funk. Every jungle needs its prey and WWE fans need to laugh in between bouts of violence and pursuits of revenge.

Rhodes Scholars vs. Tons of Funk on Raw.

Tons of Funk and the Funkadactyls appear to be on the proverbial collision course with Team Rhodes Scholars.

The two teams met on Monday's Raw with the Bellas in Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow's corner.

WWE appears to be having the option ready to do an eight-person tag match with both tag teams and their female counterparts for WrestleMania 29. Even The Granddaddy of Them All needs its filler, it appears.

With those dancing mammoths now officially christened, the announcers will now have a few less syllables to say when calling their action at WrestleMania 29 or elsewhere.
