News on Future Plans for Brock Lesnar and Triple H

Sharon GlencrossJun 6, 2018

As announced at the end of Monday's Raw, Triple H will take on Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania in a No Holds Barred match, with Triple H having to retire if he loses.

So, what are the plans for WrestleMania? And what does WWE have planned for Lesnar following the event?

Well, in this week's (subscribers-only) F4W Newsletter, Bryan Alvarez gave some insight into management's plans for Lesnar and Triple H, noting that while Lesnar is currently scheduled to lose at the pay-per-view, WWE is keen to keep him strong for his showndown with The Rock next year.

At press time, HHH was still scheduled to beat Brock at WrestleMania. Obviously the issue is that they want Brock to headline Mania next year against Rock and thus he should not be doing any jobs...What's interesting is that despite him being scheduled to lose, they want to do a subtle tease of Rock vs. Brock on the Raw after Mania next month. The idea is to only do a tease and not push it too hard since they don't want fans expecting that it'll take place at SummerSlam.

"

While keeping Brock Lesnar strong and having him defeat Triple H heading into his planned bout with Rock next year might seem like the obvious option, it's easy to understand why WWE might feel differently.

After all, Lesnar has already cleanly defeated Triple Hโ€”at last year's SummerSlamโ€”and broken his arm. The former UFC Heavyweight champion has also assaulted his father-in-law Vince McMahon and taken out several of his close friends in recent weeks.

Come on, what type of a babyface would Triple H be if he didn't get revenge for all that?

And it's not like Lesnar's star power will evaporate if he suffers a loss.

After all, he seems to have recovered from his clean loss to John Cena at last year's Extreme Rules pay-per-view.

For all intents and purposes, Lesnar can emerge from a loss with his star power in tact. Anyone as talented as him usually can.
