3 Under-the-Radar Fights to Watch at UFC 158
When fans hear of UFC 158, many will automatically think about Georges St-Pierre vs. Nick Diaz.
Carlos Condit, Johny Hendricks, Jake Ellenberger and Nate Marquardt are other names that will inevitably come up.
With so many big names on the event, it is easy to forget some of the other talented fighters dispersed throughout the card.
They may be under the radar, but the following six men are guaranteed to lay it all on the line and generate some excitement.
Antonio Carvalho vs. Darren Elkins
1 of 3Antonio Carvalho comes into this fight riding some momentum after winning a split decision over Rodrigo Damm last time out.
That bout was particularly brutal for Damm because of the whip-like leg kicks Carvalho was throwing.
The Canadian's winning streak also includes a knockout victory over Daniel Pineda.
Darren Elkins has quietly been taking the featherweight division by storm. He constantly pressures opponents and is an animal on the ground.
He's also an incredibly tough customer who has survived the onslaught of Diego Brandao.
These men match up pretty well. You can expect to see a fast-paced fight with both competitors looking to put the other away.
Jordan Mein vs. Dan Miller
2 of 3Dan Miller will make his second foray into the welterweight division when he takes on Jordan Mein.
The elder of the two Miller brothers, Dan dropped down from middleweight looking to revive his career. He got his answer and was able to submit Ricardo Funch in the third round.
Having been a fixture on the Canadian MMA scene for years, Mein has made a name for himself and is aiming to do Canada proud when he enters the UFC Octagon for the first time.
He had a three-fight stint in Strikeforce and came away from the promotion with a 2-1 record.
Both welterweights are hungry to prove they belong at 170 pounds and should provide an excellent show.
John Makdessi vs. Daron Cruickshank
3 of 3A battle of epic strikers will commence when "The Detroit Superstar" Daron Cruickshank meets up with John "The Bull" Makdessi.
Both of these men are explosive. Their kicks and punches are fast and deadly, and both looked great in their previous bouts.
Cruickshank is coming into this bout after that nasty head-kick knockout of Henry Martinez. Martinez was able to eat every shot up to that point, but the big kick finally turned his lights out.
Makdessi also had great success in his last fight against fellow Canadian Sam Stout. He worked a vicious jab that Stout kept on eating.
He was able to out-land his opponent at will and took home a decision victory for his effort.
This fight is definitely one you can't miss and has a very good chance of ending in spectacular fashion.
