The March 11 edition of Monday Night Raw featured a tribute to the late great Paul Bearer, returns by a number of former WWE employees and some great action.
However, as usual, WWE fans were left with questions unanswered after the show.
When will Fandango make his debut? Who will receive the Intercontinental title match next week on Raw? And what does CM Punk plan on doing with the urn?
With less than four weeks until WrestleMania 29, I was hoping to learn of more matches to occur at the show of shows. Unfortunately, there were not any new matches announced for WrestleMania.
What other matches might we see on April 7?
With that said, here are the top five questions left unanswered after Raw.
On Raw, CM Punk interrupted The Undertaker’s tribute to the late great Paul Bearer. Undertaker had been in the ring along with an urn to represent his former manager. In response, Undertaker was silent. This leaves fans wondering whether or not Undertaker will ever cut a promo prior to his match with Punk at WrestleMania 29.
Last year, Undertaker’s promos with Triple H were not that spectacular. His silence is almost more effective in that Chris Jericho silence kind of way.
With less than four weeks to go until WrestleMania, it remains to be seen how Undertaker and CM Punk will continue to build up to their match.
Once again on Raw, Fandango refused to wrestle due to Tensai’s inability to pronounce Fandango’s name correctly. This has been going on for a couple weeks now as fans wonder when Fandango will ever have a match. Or perhaps he never will.
It made a lot of sense for Fandango to have a match with Tensai as Sweet T has been joining forces with the dancing Funkasaurus Brodus Clay. Fandango is pretty much a heel version of Brodus Clay’s gimmick.
Fandango’s gimmick is not unique and this whole refusing to wrestle angle has been done before. For Fandango and Johnny Curtis’ sake, he better hope WWE doesn’t give up on him before he chooses to participate in a match.
Although the match was interrupted by Brock Lesnar, the New Age Outlaws returned to action again to face Team Rhodes Scholars.
After facing Rhodes and Sandow at a house show a few months ago, I had been hoping to see New Age Outlaws in action again. However, now we must wonder if the New Age Outlaws were just used as a one-time thing or if they will rejoin the tag team division full-time.
The tag team division can use Road Dogg and Billy Gunn as it has been depleted once again. However, it is possible that the Outlaws were just used for Brock Lesnar’s attack since Gunn and Road Dogg are friends of Triple H.
WWE fans witnessed a surprise return by the Bella Twins on Monday night during a segment involving Kaitlyn and Team Rhodes Scholars. Nikki and Brie were fired months ago, but they have seemed to return to help the Divas division.
Would the return of the Bella Twins really help the division that much?
It’s hard to believe that the Divas would receive that much more time with the return of the twins. The fact that they are both supposedly dating WWE Superstars Daniel Bryan and John Cena, respectively, probably had something to do with their return.
Either way, it remains to be seen how the Bella Twins’ appearance on Raw will impact the Divas division.
During Chris Jericho’s highlight-reel segment on Raw, both Jericho and Miz were put in a match with a shot at the Intercontinental title on the line.
The match ended in a no contest as Barrett got involved and attacked both Superstars. This leaves us wondering, who will challenge Barrett for the Intercontinental title?
All three Superstars are without a WrestleMania match, but chances are Barrett will defend his title against Jericho or Miz. Jericho would make sense as he was Barrett’s pro and a nine-time Intercontinental champion, but Jericho could also face Ziggler at WrestleMania.
It remains to be seen who the No. 1 contender for the Intercontinental championship will be.
