I got what it takes to rock the mic right yeah

When it comes to becoming a top star in Pro Wrestling there are many skills the talent must deliver.

When you think of the greats who have stepped in the wrestling ring you remember their wrestling skill, athletic ability, heart, never-say-die attitude but one of the biggest ones is how the superstar worked the mic.

This one skill can either make or break a wrestlers career. Some have seized the moment and have shined bright as others have failed and been booed to shame.

Some have good ring skills but have never reached the top and there could be one reason why. This is why many wrestlers craft their skills and anticipate the moment to be the top guy.

The mic can be your friend or your worst enemy. The ones who let the mic beat them have trouble rising to the top. But the ones who work the mic have always shined and have became wrestling's best.

One speech on the mic can turn rise you from the mid-card status all the way to the top of the roster. To some, the mic has become golden and there is a reason why.

The microphone has been in the business for years and is a major part of a wrestlers career. You can go for so long with being silent there comes a time where you have to take your chance at the mic.

You can either succeed or fail at the at the skills of the mic. Being great on the mic can help a wrestler to put on great promos, it can even make a feud more interesting.

War of the words: before a huge event is great it brings out all the emotion and it makes a great build up. So you can either shine on the mic or watch your career die.

In my recent article The Top Five Wrestling Superstars Who Shined on the Mic, I listed the top five superstars in my own opinion that shined on the mic so bright.  Many top names where left to the side without mention.

So this is where The Mega Showdown begins, The Top Five Wrestling superstars who shined at the mic will turn into a tournament with the winner ultimately be picked by the fellow B/R wrestling community.

Jericho has slick skills in the ring and great athletic moves that many superstars can't pull off.

But out of all those skills there is one thing that stood out the most about Jericho that blasted him to super stardom, and that was his ability to shine on the mic.

When he first debuted in the WWF we knew something was special about the young athlete. Jericho and The Rock went toe to toe in the war of the words. Although Jericho lost, he didn't go down without a fight.

From that moment, Jericho would finally get what he was due and that was a rise to the top.

With his clever skills on the mic and speeches that fans would come to quote for years, it is no wonder Chris became the first Undisputed champion.

With sayings like a** clown and many more phrases that had the audience at a daze this is why Chris Jericho has landed at No. 5 of Superstars who shined on the mic.

The Hot Rod had the attitude, charisma but one that blazed to the top was his cleverness on the mic.

If you think about the best parts of many of Piper's feuds is when Roddy graced us with his presence on the mic.

The Hot Rod used his skills best to get under the skin of many other wrestling greats. The Piper's Pit is where he delivered some of wrestling's greatest moments from his moment with the Snuka concerning the coconut to today, he shows that he hasn't lost a step when it comes to the mic.

The Limousine riding, Lear jet flying, wheeling dealing, kiss stealing son of a gun, the Nature Boy Ric Flair! Whooooo!

That phrase will catch the attention of fans around the world and will have people imitate his greatness for years.

When Ric Flair stepped on the mic you knew you were going to receive a show like no other he gave his all on the mic as he did in the ring as well.

Red face, veins popping, sweat dripping, even showing sweat stains under the arm pit and these are the reasons why the man Flair replaces the man Hulk Hogan.

And this is why The Nature Boy is the man Whoooooooooo!

You sit there and you thump your Bible, and you say your prayers, and it didn't get you anywhere! Talk about your Psalms, talk about John 3:16... Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your a**!

On June 23, 1996 at WWF's annual King of the Ring tournament Stone Cold became a superstar. With his speech directed at the newly reborn Christian Jake "the Snake" Roberts, there was no doubt it was his time to shine.

The next night at Raw the crowd was filled with 3:16 signs with was just to show Austin had arrived.

By cussing, drinking and whooping a** and taking names, and working the mic, there is no wonder why Austin has been inducted into the WWE's Hall of Fame.

But there is one that stood out the most it that one is the Great One. The Rock had a rough start to his pro wrestling career has he couldn't connect with the fans.

He did so badly that he received " die Rocky die" chants until one day, Rocky became The Rock.

When The Rock got on the mic the fans anticipated on what he was going to say, even if The Rock was bad mouthing them.

The Rock created remarkable moments that will go down in WWE history. Some of the best moments where when The Rock went toe to toe with The Rattlesnake Stone Cold Steve Austin.

When those two men stepped in the ring you can feel the electricity in the air.

Although The Rock has thrown his last elbow pad and laid the Smackdown on superstars everywhere there is no doubt that fans will always smell what The Rock is cooking.

What you gonna do when Hulk Hogan runs wild on you, brother. From telling kids to take their vitamins, and having the Hulkamaniacs running wild there was no doubt that Hogan can work the mic.

With these skills, Hogan launched his career and became a walking ICON in the wrestling world. When Hogan got on the mic, he grabbed all the Hulk crazy fans attention.

Hogan became wrestling's MJ, Ruth, Woods for mainly one reason, and that was by catching viewers' interest and he did this with the mic.

"He said, 'I'm flying off like an eagle off the top rope. I'm going to fly like a bird. I'm flying like an eagle, Terry ... and when you go down, 1-2-3, they're going to shower me with flowers.”
These words coming from a wrestling legend Dusty Rhodes, he has swagger, strut the attitude skills that made him what he is today but most of all the best skill is the way he rocked the mic.
His southern accent, the way the words flowed you couldn't help to pay attention to the great Dusty Rhodes.
Dusty is a member of a select few that have risen to the top, not just by his work in the ring but on the mic this why he deserves to be on the list and no wonder why the man is a Hall of Famer and a legend.
"Show me the PUPPIES", anyone who is a wrestling fan know's the man behind those words non-other than the King him self Jerry Lawler.
This man proved to be great and the ring and than some. Being JR's right hand man and stirring things up it was just a joy not just watch a match but listen.
The man rocked the mic so good that he made it his second half of his career as the commentator of RAW.
"The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be"
The man was an awesome athlete in the ring, and put on performances that will be stuck in wrestling fans minds for ages and to put it further more ages.
Although the days of him strapping up the boots are done he left us with matches that are considered by some the best match ever.
But that is not all this Hit Man had in store for wrestling fans around the world. When he stepped on the mic it was magic.
"The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be"
Is a bold statement but a statement this Hit Man could make not by just show casing his skills in the ring but also on the mic.
This wrestler, rapper, actor rose to fame like a rocket into to space. When he first entered the WWE no one thought to much about the young up and comer but we will soon find out what this talented prospect was hiding in the shadows.
The John Cena you were introduce to was just a facade and the facade shattered like a broken mirror and the rapping wrestler was born.
John Cena did what some wrestler's can not do and that is get under the skin of the competition before they went toe to toe. His way to entertain the fans by making a fool out of his competitor was his way to wrestling super stardom.
Some  would say Cena is the fastest talent to reach the top besides Brock Lesnar. Cena must be thanking his vocals right now as it wasn't his in ring skills that got him to the top as he was even booed as face by fans chanting "You can't wrestle", but John Cena brush his shoulder's off like hova and played the game and said it was over and it was all do to the golden mic.
This talent is becoming a today's version of the beer drinking, hell raising rattle snake Stone Cold Steve Austin and that says a lot.
This self proclaimed LEGEND KILLER has become a house hold name and a fans favorite love to hate superstar and this is non other that Randy Orton him self.
When you get involved in a huge feud with the McMahon's and HHH you know your doing something special. The Legend Killer even got to kiss Trip's wife, right in front of his face is that bold or what.
This talented star has it all and one day can be the guy to be what Trip is today, heck he can probably even be better.
His devious smile, his twisted acts and glance's before even getting on the mic he catches your attention and that is a good skill to have.
Like Cena, Orton has risen to fame in a quick minute with the skills he worked hard on and finally found his own and that is on the mic
Now there you have it the Showdown list is complete now it belongs in your hands to vote and award one of these greats the right to say they were the greatest on the mic.
If I missed anyone let me know and I will add on, heck you saw my list so if you find the outcome completely wrong you have the right to give your case in your own article for example The Showdown: Why blank is the best superstar to rock the mic.
Let the voting begin.....
