There is just a few weeks until TNA’s huge Lockdown pay-per-view (March 10), and for the sake of the build to the event, the company must ensure this week’s episode of Impact! Wrestling is one of the best all year.
Will Hogan actually pick a No. 1 contender this week?
With so much action in store for the fans—Sting starts building his Lockdown team and there will be two title matches on the broadcast—Thursday’s edition of Impact! from London, England should be a wild one.
Where: Wembley Arena, London, England
When: Thursday, Feb. 21, at 8 p.m. ET
Watch: Spike TV
Hogan Picks the No. 1 Contender
Instead of creating a tournament that could have featured the same four matches the company had last week and the continuation and conclusion to crown the No. 1 contender on this Thursday’s episode, TNA is allowing general manager Hulk Hogan to randomly make the selection.
Question on Everybody's Mind: How Will Hulk Hogan Screw This Up?
As great as all the matches were last week—it’s good to see TNA still has the talent to put on amazing shows week-in and week-out despite the porous booking—the fact that Hogan has the power to pick anyone could mean Bully Ray somehow find his way into the No. 1 contender’s spot.
Hype Meter: 3 out of 5 Huge Swerves Coming
There is too much emphasis on this Bully Ray/Brooke angle for something huge not to be planned, but what exactly the swerve is hasn’t been revealed. The most likely outcome would be Hogan helping Bully win the TNA world title and Bully reveals he was in Aces & Eights all along.

Team Sting Takes Shape
At the Lockdown PPV in March, there will be a huge match between Devon-led Team Aces & Eights and Team TNA led by The Icon, Sting. None of the members have been determined, but the selection process for the good side will likely start Thursday.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Who Will Be on Sting’s Team?
No one has announced how many team members there will be or what the rules of the match are, but both sides have completely jumped the gun and will start to formulate teams this week. Look for Sting’s team to gather every face that was beat up by Aces & Eights still currently on the roster (i.e. Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, James Storm and Magnus.)
Hype Meter: 2 out of 5 Survivor Series MEHtches
The problem will not be the match itself or the participants. Instead, this huge multi-man bout should be quite enjoyable. The issue here is not only that the rules have not been explained properly yet, but the fact that Aces & Eights has no clear objective and has no real reason to fight makes this battle feel pointless.
