WWE WrestleMania 30: Date, Location, Logo, Updates and Analysis

May 31, 2018

The WWE has announced that WrestleMania 30 will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans in 2014, according to the companyโ€™s official press conference.

The announcement comes just weeks after the Superdome held the NFLโ€™s 2013 Super Bowl, and the excitement in New Orleans for WrestleMania will be through the roof.ย

With WrestleMania 28 reportedly generating over $100 million for the 2011 host city of Miami (h/t Miami Herald), what better way to infuse the local economy than by bringing in two of the most attended sporting events each year to the city of New Orleans?

WrestleMania 30 in NOLA is shaping up to be a wild time.

Let's take a look at a few more specifics, including the event's logo, some updates and further analysis.

When: Sunday, April 6, 2014

Where: Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans, La.

WrestleMania 30 Logo

The official WrestleMania Twitter account tweeted out the new logo for the 30th edition of the WWEโ€™s marquee event.

What Theyโ€™re Saying

New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu told The New Orleans Times-Picayune about his excitement about getting WrestleMania 30 in his city.

"

We are proud to have played host to some of the greatest sports and entertainment events in the world over the past two years, and hosting WrestleMania is a great way to continue this unprecedented streak. We look forward to hosting WWE and its global fan base as they celebrate this historic milestone at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

"

Nationally syndicated radio show Ring Rust Radio knows that the WWE will use the location of the 2014 WrestleMania as an excuse to blow the show out event biggerโ€”Mardi Gras style.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is excited to have the WWE in his building for WrestleMania 30.

Legendary WWE announcer Jim Ross took to Twitter to talk about NOLA and what it means to him and the company as a whole.

While most were upbeat about the news, Paul Heyman was already teasing a possible opponent for The Rock when he appears on the WrestleMania 30 card.

Analysis

Getting WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans is a major coup for the city, but itโ€™s just as important to the WWE in terms of publicity.

Between the 2013 Super Bowl, the annual Mardi Gras and the announcement of WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans, the local economy that has continued to rebuild over the years since Hurricane Katrina will be infused with a huge amount of fans and money.

New Orleans will benefit greatly from the WWEโ€™s arrival of an event the magnitude of WrestleMania.

Add in the adjoining events not associated with the WWE that follow WrestleMania every yearโ€”conventions, Indy shows, etc.โ€”and this will be one of the greatest experiences in wrestling history.

The WWE and New Orleans will surely put on an amazing show.
