WWE WrestleMania 30: Date, Location, Logo, Updates and Analysis

The WWE has announced that WrestleMania 30 will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans in 2014, according to the company’s official press conference.

The announcement comes just weeks after the Superdome held the NFL’s 2013 Super Bowl, and the excitement in New Orleans for WrestleMania will be through the roof. 

With WrestleMania 28 reportedly generating over $100 million for the 2011 host city of Miami (h/t Miami Herald), what better way to infuse the local economy than by bringing in two of the most attended sporting events each year to the city of New Orleans?

The indoor facility protects the WWE from the elements—as long as the power stays on for the whole show (h/t ABC News)—and the party atmosphere is perfect for all of the functions that go along with the WrestleMania festivities.

WrestleMania 30 in NOLA is shaping up to be a wild time.

Getting WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans is a major coup for the city, but it’s just as important to the WWE in terms of publicity.

Between the 2013 Super Bowl, the annual Mardi Gras and the announcement of WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans, the local economy that has continued to rebuild over the years since Hurricane Katrina will be infused with a huge amount of fans and money.

New Orleans will benefit greatly from the WWE’s arrival of an event the magnitude of WrestleMania.

Add in the adjoining events not associated with the WWE that follow WrestleMania every year—conventions, Indy shows, etc.—and this will be one of the greatest experiences in wrestling history.
