Top 100 Baseball Prospects and Rookies

The season has begun, in fact, it couldn't start soon enough. To stave off the sports doldrums of February I decided to rank the 100 top "impact" prospects based on statistical analysis alone. The list that follows is composed primarily of players who played at or above the AA level in baseball last year. Many played MLB last year but none got a full season under their belts.

My method was relatively simple, I assigned point values for certain important statistical measures (ex. I would give five points for having a WHIP below 1.00 for pitchers) and then assigned multipliers based on what league they played in and how old they were. From there it was possible to rank the players. This exercise was mostly for me so I would know what names to follow during spring training and if there was any untapped fantasy league potential among the players. Thus, this list isn't as comprehensive or polished as I would like it but I think it should still have some value.
