The Leffler Report

This is the Leffler report with a review/preview of Jason Leffler and Braun Racing's No. 38 Great Clips Toyota Camry.

Leffler came home to Sin City which is one of his worst tracks on the circuit. Being a native of Long Beach C.A, Las Vegas was not too far away from his home and he had friends and family at the track watching and boy he did not disappoint.

Leffler started 22nd on the field for Saturdays Sam's Town 300 event. During the race he came through the pack very nicely. He was running seventh at lap 25.

Leffler would stay at the front of the pack all day running lap times along with the leaders times and gaining on the leaders each lap. He would gamble on a late pit stop only taking two tires. After battling his way to the second position he would be caught up in a fuel mileage gamble, saving fuel under the record breaking amount of cautions.

When the green/white/checkered flew the verizon of overtime in NASCAR was pushing it for fuel, but leader Greg Biffle stayed out forcing the Braun Racing Team to also stay out. On the restart the fuel pick-up sputtered and Biffle got away for the win.

Leffler was the highest finishing Nationwide guy and moved to eighth place in the Nationwide Points

The NASCAR Nationwide Series takes a well deserved week off this week and will return to the high banks of Bristol in two weeks.

Leffler has 11 starts at Bristol Motorspeedway with starts of 18 and a pole in 2007 and an eight and 19th starting positions in 2008

Leffler finished 34th and second (bridesmaid) in '07 and sixth and 15th in 2008.

He has lead 81 laps in 11 races he only has three DNF's at Bristol he also has three Cup starts and one Truck start finishing ninth in '03.

With two weeks off it gives Leffler and Braun time to get ready for Bristol and hopefully find the success they did in 2007 with a pole and a second place finish.

Until next time, this is the Leffler report.
