Kenny Britt Suspension: Why One Game Is Not So Bad for Fantasy Football
According to a report by The Tennessean, Kenny Britt will be suspended one game by the NFL for his offseason DUI incident. That’s great news for fantasy owners with the Titans’ star receiver already on their rosters.
I outlined Kenny Britt’s fantasy prospects for the 2012 season assuming that he would miss somewhere between two and four contests at the front end of the upcoming NFL year.
The number of games that Britt could have missed coming out of the gate would have been six if he had stayed on the Physically Unable to Perform list. The Titans removed him from that list, however, making him medically eligible to start the 2012 season. But the looming suspension remained an issue on the clarity of Britt’s situation.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The fact that he will only be forced to miss one game works wonders for Britt’s fantasy value going forward. I expect that he’ll be selected much earlier (perhaps even too early in some cases) in future fantasy drafts.
On a per-game basis, he’s got clear top-10 potential as defenses have to respect the running prowess of Titans running back Chris Johnson as well as new starting quarterback Jake Locker.
Britt has yet to play with Locker under center in an NFL regular-season game. But the receiver and the quarterback are each talented enough that they should be able to make things happen when the games start to count.
While Britt is serving his suspension, he has that much more time to heal up from his knee injury that took place early in the 2011 season. He’ll be eligible to play in the September 16 game against the Chargers, nine days shy of a full year since his ACL tear. It shouldn’t take the third-year wideout very long to regain his spot as the Titans' No. 1 receiver.
I’ve got Britt listed as a No. 2 fantasy WR prospect going into 2012, worth a mid-round pick.
