WWE News: CM Punk Fires Back on Blading Allegations
Amid rumors that he bladed his head on Monday night against Jerry Lawler, CM Punk, aka "The Voice of the Voiceless," took to Twitter to weigh in on the topic.
A fan tweeted the following:
"@cmpunkWhy you used blades?it looked so fake, suddenly blood, come on!
— chatou (@funkygirl45) August 29, 2012"
And Punk responded with a vengeance:
"The staples are fake too. twitter.com/CMPunk/status/…
— CM Punk (@CMPunk) August 29, 2012"
"I paid Charles Robinsonsfine. #respect
— CM Punk (@CMPunk) August 29, 2012"
"And yes, I have more power than you could possibly imagine.
— CM Punk (@CMPunk) August 29, 2012"
"500k fine. Drop in the bucket. Bucket of blood!
— CM Punk (@CMPunk) August 29, 2012"
Clearly, Punk takes his job seriously, and it appear he is denying the blading claims. I think it's safe to say that very few people would drop half a million dollars on a spot for a match. Although, I am not truly certain that that is the amount for the fine.
Ultimately, Punk has made a career on being a rebel and going against the grain. But even though he is the WWE Champ, he is by no means one to throw around his weight to get what he wants. In fact, Punk probably has lead the charge for a WWE youth movement and by all means wants as many people as possible to share the spotlight with him.
That is a rarity for wrestling, as most veterans cling to their spot and refuse to let go.
In the end, we may never know what truly happened. However, one thing is certain: Punk stands by his convictions and seems annoyed that he was accused of such actions.
