LONDON, ENGLAND - AUGUST 02: Silver medallist Ryan Lochte of the United States poses on the podium during the medal ceremony for the Men's 200m Individual Medley final on Day 6 of the London 2012 Olympic Games at the Aquatics Centre on August 2, 2012 in London, England. Ryan Lochte is not dating his sister.

Let me explain a tad further for those who may have been out of Internet service for a hot minute. BuzzFeed reports the woman in the following picture is Ryan Lochte's sister, Megan J. Torrini.

There is a reason this all matters.

The US Olympic swimmer was caught by photogs carousing around London shortly after swimming events concluded for the Games.

That's when TMZ had this report and following picture. For those uninitiated, that woman on his lap is his sister which makes the following reports quite unfortunate...quite unfortunate indeed.

Here is what TMZ had to say initially:

But they didn't leave empty-handed -- they piled into a cab with several, very excited females ... one of whom sat on Lochte's lap, placing her fun bags a mere nuzzling distance away from his face.

Oh dear.

E! Online had this summation:

In one snap, Lochte appeared slightly disoriented as a redheaded woman climbed on his lap in the back of a taxicab.

No, please not disorientation. Don't say there was disorientation.

Sigh, and this very blog had to step in and make things retroactively awkward like finding out Luke and Leia were brother and sister, only to remember a lip-lock kiss in Empire Strikes Back

Here is what yours truly had to offer

The man wasted no time getting down with fellow swimmers and some lovely ladies.

TMZ has this picture of Lochte being man-handled and then being used as a comfy seat by one woman while another catches his ear.

No, idiot. There is nothing comfy about this at all.

So we tip our hats to BuzzFeed for making us all feel quite icky. If you need me, I will be taking a shower, trying to get the awkward off.
