Kenny Britt's Surgery Curbs Enthusiasm for the Titans' Season
I've wanted to get on the Titans bandwagon for months now, but they can't seem to catch a break.
News that Kenny Britt has had his knee scoped doesn't sink the season for Tennessee, but it's not the kind of report anyone wants the week before training camps open around the league.
Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean reported it was Britt's left knee that went under the scope. He's already recovering from torn ACL and MCLs in his right knee in an injury he suffered in the third game of the 2011 season.

Players have knees scoped all the time, and were this in March or February, it would be thought of as a routine procedure.
It may still be.
But when it comes to a player as important as Britt, the news is unsettling at best.
At this point, Britt is already coming off consecutive injury plagued seasons, and with the way he's starting out 2012, it's fair to wonder when he'll ever be 100 percent. The Football Outsiders Almanac has Britt projected for 999 yards and seven touchdowns in 2012.
It's too early to discount those numbers entirely, but it's also safe to acknowledge that his health will continue to be a major concern until he can prove he's durable enough to play 16 games in a season.
Just when the Titans were looking to put together an elite passing offense, they'll likely open camp unable to put their three best targets on the field together.
The Titans aren't a team operating with much margin in 2012. To overcome the Texans, they are going to need some breaks and a lot of good health.
If there is any silver lining for the Titans, it's that Kendall Wright will get more reps with the starting offense, and the extra work could pay off come September.
If Britt is back and playing come Week 1, this news will be quickly forgotten. If the problems linger all season, however, we'll point to July 17 as the day optimism about Britt died.
