WWE News: Tuxedo Match Added to Card at WWE No Way out This Sunday

After the United States Champion embarrassed Alberto Del Rio’s personal ring announcer last Monday on Raw, Santino Marella and Ricardo Rodriguez will settle their feud this Sunday at No Way Out in the rarely seen Tuxedo match.

Here’s the description from the company’s website, WWE.com, as it previews the match between Marella and Rodriguez this Sunday:

Described by Marella as “one of the most electrifying matches in sports-entertainment,” Tuxedo Matches require both competitors to enter the fray in full penguin suits. The objective is to strip the other man of his outfit. For a rivalry that has featured plenty of laughs and more than a tinge of humiliation, the Tuxedo Match is a wholly appropriate venue for Marella and Rodriguez to settle the score.

Outside of the ridiculousness of this particular gimmick match for the WWE, it makes no sense for the company to have one of their secondary champions, in this case Marella, in this type of match.

With Christian defending the Intercontinental Championship against Cody Rhodes on the card this Sunday, the WWE should plan to take the title off Marella and put it on another superstar who is more than just comic relief like Marella.

Even though having a good guess on the reaction to addition of the match to the card for No Way Out, what do you think of the Tuxedo match between Ricardo Rodriguez and the United States Champion Santino Marella?
