Andrew Luck Lives Up to Billing in First Practice with Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts had to wait a little over a week to watch their new franchise QB in action on the practice field, and they had to like what they saw.
No. 1 overall pick Andrew Luck led the rookies at the three-day minicamp session and impressed teammates and coaches alike, according to Associated Press writer Michael Marot. TE Coby Fleener, who played with Luck at Stanford and was the Colts' first draft pick after Luck in the second round, called Luck "amazing" and "as brilliant as ever."
According to Marot, Fleener said Luck made play calls that were "probably 30 words long off the top of head." Head coach Chuck Pagano also took note of Luck's play calls saying, "You listen to some of those play calls and you know why he’s an architectural engineer."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Marot also had good things to say about Luck's execution after those marathon play calls, estimating that it was 20 minutes into the first practice before one of his throws hit the ground.
Luck wasn't as impressed with himself, saying he improved by "leaps and bounds" over the three-day minicamp. He wasn't conceding that 2012 would be a rebuilding year, either:
"I don't think anybody is viewing it as a rebuilding season. There are great players on this team, guys that have made the playoffs for x-amount of years in a row and then maybe missed out last year. I know they are hungry. I just hope that I can help them achieve that goal.
"
For now, Luck has to sit out of the Colts' organized team activities until after his finals at Stanford on June 7.
In the meantime, he said he'll hook up with veteran WRs Austin Collie, Quan Cosby and Reggie Wayne to work out together. The rookie even knows his place on the team, saying, "I won't make Reggie come to where I am. I'll go to where he is."
