Floyd Mayweather vs. Miguel Cotto: 'Money' Will Enter Jail Undefeated
Floyd Mayweather Jr. is poised to run his already impressive record to 43-0 next weekend in Las Vegas, less than a month before he is scheduled to serve a 90-day jail term for domestic abuse on June 1.
Mayweather will take on the younger and heavier Puerto Rican challenger Miguel Cotto, who will be defending his WBA junior middleweight title, a rare crown that Mayweather doesn't currently hold.
The fight is scheduled for 12 rounds Saturday, May 5 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, the arena where Mayweather has won his previous five fights dating back to his epic showdown with Oscar De La Hoya five years ago to the day (May 5, 2007).

Mayweather's last fight was a fourth-round knockout of Victor Ortiz back in September 2011. The win sent Money to 42-0 for his career, which began nearly 16 years ago.
At age 35, there are questions regarding how much longer Mayweather can avoid his first loss, which seems inevitable yet unthinkable.
There will certainly be no more walks in the park for Money, as his opponents in the future, like Cotto, will be younger and much hungrier to make a name for themselves.
Though Cotto, 31, and those in his corner would argue that Mayweather is beatable—having needed all 12 rounds to win five of his last seven bouts—there is no one better at winning over the judges than Pretty Boy, who is champion of five divisions.
Meanwhile, Cotto has two losses since 2008, both late TKOs to Antonio Margarito and Manny Pacquiao.
Despite the fact that Cotto is a bigger fighter, Mayweather is one of the smartest and most mentally-stable boxers of all time, and has plenty of experience with fights that go the distance, whereas 30 of Cotto's 37 wins have come via knockout.
The reality of three months in jail will be on Money's mind inside the ring next weekend, and that's enough motivation to kick off his hiatus in style, with a win over one of the best boxers in the sport today.
