WWE Smackdown Preview: SPOILER-FREE Preview of This Week's Episode (April 27)

Drake OzJun 5, 2018

I really try my best to avoid the Smackdown spoilers, but every week, I find myself eventually looking at them before the show actually airs.

Still, I know that some of you have more willpower than me and are able to avoid the spoilers at all costs in order to be surprised on Friday nights.

Props to you guys if you can do that on a consistent basis.

But even though you may not want to know the results of the Smackdown matches and segments, you still may want to have an idea or general outline of the show every week.

That’s what I’m here for.

Here is a SPOILER-FREE, segment-by-segment preview of this week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown (April 27th).

Daniel Bryan Promo

Not to be cliché, but “Yes! Yes! Yes!”

There’s nothing like a little promo from D-Bry to start Smackdown off on the right foot.

What will Bryan have to say just two days before his 2/3 Falls match with Sheamus at Extreme Rules?

Alberto Del Rio vs. The Big Show (Non-Title Match)

This is a rematch from last week’s Smackdown, a bout that was won by Del Rio after Rhodes interfered and nailed Big Show with the Disaster Kick.

Knowing that Rhodes cost him the match last week, Show might want to be on the lookout this time around.

Damien Sandow Vignette

Get out your thesauruses, guys and gals.

Nikki Bella vs. Alicia Fox (Non-Title Match)

I smell a “Match of the Year” contender here.

Just kidding, of course. But this will be Nikki’s first match since winning the Divas title on Monday’s Raw.

Darren Young and Titus O’Neil vs. Yoshi Tatsu and Ezekiel Jackson

Smackdown’s newest tag team, who call themselves the Primetime Players, take on the very random pairing of Tatsu and Jackson.

This will be the third straight Smackdown with a tag team match featuring an actual tag team, so might we be seeing the revival of tag team wrestling in the WWE?

Michael Cole Interviews Randy Orton

I would love for Orton to punt Cole in the skull, but instead, “The Viper” will likely just address his Falls Count Anywhere Match against Kane at Extreme Rules.

Antonio Cesaro vs. Tyson Kidd in a Tryout Match

Cesaro (a.k.a. former ROH star Claudio Castagnoli) makes his in-ring debut in a “tryout” match against Kidd.

This should be one hell of a match between two great wrestlers.

The Great Khali vs. Cody Rhodes

Let’s see if Rhodes can carry Khali to a decent match.

Don’t worry, though, Cody—we won’t blame you if you can’t.

Ryback vs. Jacob Kaye

Ryback takes on another local competitor on this week’s show. I hope Kaye fares better than Ryback’s first three opponents have.

Sheamus vs. Mark Henry (Non-Title Match)

In a rematch from this Monday’s Raw, the World Heavyweight Champion takes on the World’s Strongest Man.

Since Bryan won’t be the special guest referee this time around, maybe we’ll get a decent main event tomorrow night.
