Jordan Brand Classic: 10 Players We Can't Wait to See in Charlotte
As college basketball recruiting begins to pick up, one of the All-Star games that every fan looks forward to is the Jordan Brand Classic. It's a game that will take place on April 14 and features 20 of the top-recruited high school players in the country.
Players that have played in this game include LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Amar'e Stoudemire and Brandon Jennings, among others. This game will not only give you a sneak peak of the future of college basketball, but there's a good chance you'll see a few future NBA All-Stars in the bunch as well.
Although all 20 of these players are extremely talented and should provide a great show, here are the 10 players you should be keeping your eyes on the most.
Rasheed Sulaimon
1 of 10Team: West
If you're looking for one of the top scorers in the 2012 class, Sulaimon is your guy. He's a 6'4" shooting guard that has unlimited range and can put the ball in the hoop in bunches. He plays the game with very high energy and could really put on a show if the shots begin to fall.
With Austin Rivers taking his talents to the NBA, Sulaimon will fit in nicely as he has committed to Duke.
Kaleb Tarczewski
2 of 10Team: East
Tarczewski may not amaze you with his offensive game, but at 7'0" he blocks anything that is anywhere near him. He doesn't have much of an offensive game and his post skills need work, although as you can probably imagine he's a really explosive dunker. He's also a fantastic rebounder and has a lot more upside than many players in this class.
Tarczewski has committed to Arizona over schools like Kansas, Kentucky and North Carolina.
Gary Harris
3 of 10Team: East
Harris is a 6'4" combo-guard who is one of the most complete and athletic players this class has to offer. He plays well on both sides of the ball, can stroke it from deep and with his athletic ability and long arms, is a force on the defensive side of the ball. Many recruiting sites consider him to be the best shooting guard in this year's class.
Harris will be a Michigan State Spartan next season.
Steven Adams
4 of 10Team: West
As you can tell by the picture, Adams has a long wingspan that helps him dominate the boards and block a ton of shots. He's an athletic center at 6'11", 230 pounds, runs the floor very well and can even step out and knock down a mid-range jumper. He will be the first player ever in the Jordan Brand Classic that is from New Zealand.
Adams will play for the Pittsburgh Panthers as they try and rebuild on a disappointing season last year.
Anthony Bennett
5 of 10Team: West
Bennett is an undersized post player at 6'7", 230 pounds, but is still extremely strong. He's a very athletic player who goes up strong to grab the rebounds and on the offensive end is capable of knocking down the three-ball. Overall, he's a versatile player who can help a team in many different ways.
He's currently uncommitted, but is looking at schools like Florida, Kentucky, Oregon, UNLV and Washington.
Brandon Ashley
6 of 10Team: West
Ashley is an athletic player who has a complete game. He runs the floor well, has a strong post move that allows him to separate from his defender and has a great pair of hands for somebody who is 6'8", 190 pounds. Overall, this is a player who has a lot of upside and is arguably the top power forward in this year's class.
Like Kaleb Tarczewski, Ashley will also be attending Arizona this season.
Isaiah Austin
7 of 10Team: West
You don't see too many players with Austin's skill set too often. First off, he's 7'0", 200 pounds, but handles the ball well and has some range on that jump shot. Then, of course, he blocks shots at a high rate and makes things difficult for the opposing offense. There's not much this young man can't do and he's only getting better.
Austin is from Arlington, TX, so it was only right he committed to the Baylor Bears.
Kyle Anderson
8 of 10Team: East
Anderson isn't your typical flashy player, but he is somebody who plays the game the right way. He has a very high basketball IQ, seems to always make the right pass and will make his teammates around him better.
Did I forget to mention that he's 6'8", which makes him a nightmare matchup for opposing defenses? There's a reason why Bleacher Report writer Bob Bajek believes he's the top recruit in the 2012 class.
Anderson will be taking his talents to the West Coast as he has committed to the UCLA Bruins.
Shabazz Muhammad
9 of 10Team: West
Muhammad is another player that's considered by many to be the top player in this class. Simply because his offensive game is about as polished as any you'll find.
He can attack the rim, knock down a consistent jump shot, can post up and is developing his range with each passing day. He plays the game with high energy and with his athletic ability there's very few positions he can't defend on the floor.
He has yet to make a decision on where he'll play, but expect one soon as he's looking at USC, Kentucky, Kansas and Duke.
Nerlens Noel
10 of 10Team: East
Then of course there's Nerlens Noel, who is considered by many to be the best prospect in this year's class. He's simply a shot-blocker and some analysts are saying at his age he's better than Kentucky's Anthony Davis was.
He has terrific length, is an underrated passer and his mobility makes him one of the more exciting players to pay attention to.
Noel is currently undecided, but will make his decision on April 11. He's torn between Syracuse, Georgetown and of course, Kentucky.
