If you somehow managed to miss the whirlwind ride that has been Rob Gronkowski's two-year NFL career, I'll sum it up for you: His name is a verb now.

The tight end's on-field production for the New England Patriots, combined with his mammoth size and freakish athleticism, has endeared him to fans all across the Northeast. But its his child-like personality that has turned him into a national sensation and possibly the next Madden cover athlete.

Sure, he's no media circus like Tim Tebow, but he certainly gets enough attention to fill his days. Gronkowski has been putting on a mini world tour as of late, stopping in to chat with prominent newspapers and radio shows alike.

He also made appearances at car dealerships, worked a shift at a local Dunkin' Donuts, spent an entire day in the ESPN studios in Bristol and oh, he stopped by the Playboy Mansion too. But I'm sure he didn't go shirtless or anything and was only there for the golf tournament. What else could possibly be on his mind in Hugh Hefner's playground?

Besides, Gronkowski has Calvin Johnson to worry about. The All-Pro wideout is Gronk's next opponent in the Madden cover competition.

Gronkowski destroyed his new teammate, Brandon Lloyd, in the first round with 85 percent of the vote and handily defeated Jared Allen in the second round with 65 percent.

He's halfway to getting his picture slapped onto the millions of copies of Madden '13 that are sure to shoot off the shelves. Teammate Wes Welker, on the other hand, is glad he doesn't have to deal with the downside to winning the cover.

Welker jokes he should have made a campaign video to compete v Gronk in Madden Cover vote. Says he's ok w/losing just in case curse is real

Judging by Gronk's personality and the lengths he's been willing to go in order to win, I don't think he's too concerned about it either.
