Evan Bourne's return to the WWE is set for March 17th, but WWE officials are understandably hesitant on putting Bourne in a major program with any other WWE superstar.

But some new information has been released on what the WWE is planning on doing with Bourne.

According to wrestlinginc.com, WWE officials are discussing about the possibility of putting Bourne in the WWE United States Title picture with Jack Swagger.

Although Santino is the current US Champion, it is being reported that the title may be taken off of him after WrestleMania XXVIII and put back on Swagger to set up the program with Bourne.

If this is the actual plan that's in the works for Bourne, it's not a bad program to be put in considering the trouble that Bourne has been in over the last few months.

Bourne was teamed up with Kofi Kingston and was one-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions when he was suspended on January 17th after a second WWE wellness policy violation, which called for a 60-day suspension from the company.

Hopefully Bourne can avoid a third wellness policy violation and can continue his career in the WWE.  If he happens to violate for a third time, the WWE might just cut him loose.

Bourne has a lot of potential even though he's a cruiserweight and is not considered to be a main-event draw.

With smaller stars like Rey Mysterio on the verge of retirement, Bourne could pick up the ball that Mysterio leaves behind and run with it to continue the tradition of cruiserweight wrestling in the WWE.

Update: The Latest from wrestlinginc.com is that Evan Bourne is on the list of WWE Talents that will not be pushed after WrestleMania XXVIII, but that obviously is not set in stone.
