Don Nelson's Possible Theme Songs: Staind's "Pardon Me," Limp Bizkit's "My Way"

On my way home from the Rose Garden Arena I was listening to the song "Pardon Me" and as I was listening to the lyrics, I immediately thought this song is the perfect theme song for Don Nelson and what he has done to the Warriors. 

Here are the Lyrics to the song:

The first lyric of the song could easily be about what was originally thought that after this year he would retire to Hawaii again and Keith Smart was going to take over the club, yet team president Robert Rowell extended his contract for another two years for $12 million and that's how it fits with the last quote of the first part of the song "the rest is up to you."

This is the second part of the song about how Don Nelson must be giddy with joy over being able to make another $12 million because of a team president who believes he can still get the job done. Also, it could apply to the fact that with the way the Warriors have been playing recently that Rowell says that Nelson's job is safe.

Nelson's path is clear right now and that it is to again destroy the Warriors and head off into the sunset to the beautiful shores of Hawaii while drinking a beer.

This is the chorus and as stated before it's just getting the background information stated again.

Repeated just to get it in your head you're stuck with me for the next two years get used to it.

The last part of the song is about Nelson's pursuit for the most wins in NBA History which would be his salvation, but he's not going to stick around long enough to get the record because he's going to jump ship after how badly the Warriors have played this season. 

The song that I used as mentioned is "Pardon Me" and it's from the band Staind. Here's the song Pardon Me.

The second theme song that could possibly be Nelson's theme song is My Way.

Pretty much you could equate this with Chris Mullin losing his power from Rowell and having the power given to Nelson. As most Warriors fans know Mullin the General Manager of getting the Warriors back to respectability lost any of his power after disagreeing with Rowell owner Chris Cohan about the punishment for Monta Ellis.

The perfect chorus I believe for Nelson to his young players. If you don't do it the way Nelson sees fit they are not going to get time on the floor. If you miss a defensive assisgnment, go too hard in practice, etc....Welcome to the bench.

Since Al Harrington was a veteran he knew that all he had to do was demand a trade. During the process he became a distraction for Nelson who originally stated Harrington would be getting as many minutes as he wants and the next minute Harrington was on the inactive list and now Harrington is in New York averaging over 20 points a game.

Again this is about Nelson and with the way the team is going with a now 10-28 there are many people believing Nelson is going to bail out on the young Warriors team even though he has stated that he's in it for the remainder of his contract.

Warriors already miss the team that won a combined 90 games over the past two years. The fans aren't going to miss Nelson if he does stay and they consider to be a sub .500 team.

Just again affirming the fact that Nelson is in charge and it's his way or the young players will never see the floor unless injuries happen.
