WWE News: WWE Officials Aiming for 50/50 Split Between Rock and John Cena Fans
Many wrestling fans are saying that the unthinkable happened on Monday’s Raw: John Cena outclassed The Rock on the microphone.
They do have a case, what with The Rock’s controversial wrist notes, the fact that he stuttered a few times and that little obscenity he uttered after Cena interrupted his promo.
Still, there seems to be a pretty even split among fans who think The Rock won that promo battle and fans who think Cena did. Apparently, that was what the WWE was looking to accomplish.

From F4Wonline.com (via WrestleZone.com):
"WWE's goal for this past week's RAW was to give John Cena the upper-hand, according to F4Wonline.com. John Cena's time on the mic, what he would say and The Rock's reaction was all intended for Cena to win that round.
Many in WWE are holding strong that Cena pointing out The Rock's notes was not scripted and not something The Rock was prepared to hear.
WWE officials are determined for the crowd to be split 50/50 at WrestleMania 28 in Miami, which WWE knows right now will require Cena to look stronger and turn some of the crowd to join his side.

I’m not even going to touch the “work or shoot?” debate right now because we can argue about that all we want, but we'll probably never know the real answer.
That being said, I think it’s a smart idea to make sure that Cena stays on pace with The Rock when it comes to cutting promos.
It’s hard to rival The Rock on the microphone, no doubt. However, considering that we probably won’t see many physical confrontations between him and Cena before WrestleMania 28, the only way to have Cena bring some members of Team Bring It over to the Cenation is to hang with The Rock, or even beat him, in the verbal war.
Honestly, there wasn’t a real “winner” on this week’s Raw (aside from the WWE), but unless the creative team was building toward a Cena heel turn (which I don’t think it is), there’s no reason to have him get destroyed by The Rock on the microphone.
You want as many people as possible to cheer The Rock at Mania, and the same goes for Cena.
Face/face matches are often incredibly fun to watch—see Triple H vs. Undertaker or Taker vs. Shawn Michaels—and thanks to that evenly matched promo battle on Monday, The Rock vs. Cena should be even more entertaining than it was already going to be.
