WWE Raw Results: Top 10 Moments from Last Night's Show

Justin WatryJun 7, 2018

I enjoyed WWE Raw last night. There were not a lot of "pointless" segments, and the crowd was excellent. If I had to grade the show, I would fall in the A- range.

I am curious to see how well WWE did in the ratings Monday night. The Daytona 500 does not interest me one bit, but I do know how huge the event is. Going against Raw all night should tell a very interesting story.

With that being said, let's get to the top 10 moments from the Red Brand!

10. SmackDown Tag-Team Match

1 of 10

Sheamus and Big Show defeated Mark Henry and Cody Rhodes in a short match.

It is very telling how little Henry moves around inside that ring.

My heart goes out to the big man, as this guy deserves time off more than anybody right now.

I respect him for working through the injuries, but being inside the squared circle less than a minute each night is not worth it.

At the end of the day, Sheamus won. I have said it over and over, but he needs to keep on picking up victories all the way until April 1st, 2012.

Cody and Show furthered their feud with yet another fun video montage about a past Mania. Well done!

9. Divas Feud?

Kelly Kelly defeated one of the Bella Twins last night.

I can't tell the two apart, but both are excellent WWE characters.

This led to further discussion about Kelly's friendship with Eve Torres.

Later on, Eve cut a great promo all but sealing the deal on her new persona.

I can't see these two having a singles match at Mania, but I am intrigued to see where this goes.

8. John Cena vs. Miz

3 of 10

These two have faced off many times in the past, but it is enjoyable every night.

John Cena beat The Miz in a few minutes, but it was the right outcome.

Cena shouldn't even be in a match until Mania, much less a lengthy one.

Also, him losing is not an option either.

On the other side of the coin, I like Miz trying to work his way onto the Mania card. He will certainly have a big role on April 1st, but it has not been determined yet on WWE TV.

7. Daniel Bryan vs. CM Punk

4 of 10

Once again, we saw CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan.

Their matches have been great, but it does make you scratch your head at seeing another "Champion vs. Champion" match be given away without much hype.

The two had another fun match, but the outside interference was just too distracting.

I am sorry, but until these two are given 30 minutes against each other with no outside "drama" on PPV, I can't praise these matches too much.

6. WWE Announcements

5 of 10

Randy Orton will return to WWE this Friday night.

He will be in a match against Daniel Bryan.

I am very curious to see where Mr. RKO fits on the card come WrestleMania XXVIII.

Also, WWE teased more tension between Raw and SmackDown.

Teddy Long and John Laurinaitis continue their battle, so be sure to visit WWE.com for more information.

It should be an interesting road ahead.

5. My "It" Girls

6 of 10

First, the tag-team title match was very good.

Secondly, Vickie Guerrero looked superb last night!

Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston, R-Truth, Primo and Epico all did wonderful jobs.

With the gold on the line, all six men worked hard and entertained. May hat goes off to them.

As for my "it" girls, they came through once again.

Rosa Mendes trended on Twitter, as well as led her men to yet another victory over four talented WWE Superstars.

Alicia Fox did the exact same. She was all over Twitter, and her acting ability was excellent backstage with Kelly Kelly. All we were missing was an appearance from Aksana.

Keep up the great work!

4. Videos

7 of 10

Is anybody interested in seeing the new movie with Edge?

Okay.

On the flip side, the WWE production put together an amazing video on Undertaker vs. Triple H.

It was a lot of the same from last year, but I didn't care.

I can't praise them enough. The videos this company releases are always exceptional. Their match was top-notch in 2011, and this year will be no different.

Add in a Heck on a Deck stipulation, and you have a fitting way for Taker to go 20-0 at Mania.

3. Returns

8 of 10

Shawn Michaels will be on Raw next week.

It will be very interesting to see if he finds himself between Undertaker and Triple H at WrestleMania.

The match certainly does not need a special guest referee, but HBK would be a perfect selection. Next Monday night will tell the entire story.

As for Raw this week, Kane made his "return."

He was only gone a week, but it was nice to see him back. He will find himself an opponent in Miami (Zack Ryder?), and it is sure to be entertaining.

2. Punk and Jericho

9 of 10

Wow!

Chris Jericho is officially back.

If anybody is still doubting his return, I suggest watching the first 20 minutes of Raw again.

Him and CM Punk going back and forth was just "money."

The best part was how their feud is being played out. It feels different. It feels big time.

It just feels like these two believe every word they are saying to each other.

Their match at WrestleMania promises to be a classic, and everybody knows it. Them putting over the "wrestling" aspect was great, as focusing on a winner over the WWE Championship is what will put this feud over the top.

Outside of a few insider remarks, these two stayed on point, and I loved it! Jericho stood tall Monday, but I am not too sure he will come Mania.

1. The Final Segment

10 of 10

You want to know why The Rock vs. John Cena is going to make WWE millions of dollars?

Segments like this.

Both men brought it last night, and the crowd was right there with them.

I give major kudos to Portland last night.

The Rock talked about Twitter for awhile. Then he turned his attention to the locker room for a few moments. After that, Rocky focused on his opponent at WrestleMania.

It was all so well done, but it only got better when Cena came out. Just like Jericho and Punk, you can "feel" this feud. That is what makes this business go.

Emotion. Passion. Fire. Desire. All wrapped up into a one-on-one match between two great performers!

While a Cena victory at Mania is imminent, you have to wonder what will happen in the next few weeks with The Rock before the biggest match of all time.
