TNA Memory Lane: The Biggest and Best Lockdown Moments *MUST WATCH VIDEOS*

0 of 18

Welcome to Memory Lane! Here we will take a stroll through some of the biggest, baddest, most dangerous, mind numbing, best moments of a given pay-per-view. Lockdown.

Lockdown started in 2005 and has been a yearly TNA pay-per-view event ever since.

The main attraction of Lockdown is the Lethal Lockdown match, where every year, two teams of four battle it out to prove who is the better team.

Lockdown is called TNA's most violent pay-per-view of the year. I say switch that label and name it the most violent pay-per-view of the year in professional wrestling today!

Strap yourselves in, this is gonna be one helluva ride.

Big thanks to Farhan Hussain for pitching this idea to me and allowing me to use it! Thank you, Farhan!

Lockdown 2005: Jeff Hardy vs. Raven

1 of 18

Lockdown 2005 had a brutal table match between Jeff Hardy and Raven.

This match had back-and-forth action, plenty of blood and lots of tables. There were six tables broken in this match and amazing spots with Jeff Hardy.

This match is an instant classic at Lockdown and will be remembered as long as TNA lives.

Lockdown 2005: AJ Styles vs. Abyss

2 of 18

This match will go down in history as one of the best matches in Lockdown history. It was AJ Styles vs. Abyss in a No. 1 contenders match to Jeff Jarrett's NWA World Heavyweight Championship.

These two men went to hell and back, fighting for the right to challenge the champion. It was a true David vs. Goliath story, only AJ used a sunset-flip powerbomb instead of a slingshot to tame his monster.

This match is simply phenomenal. It had it all. Chairs, tacks, hard hits, high-flying moves, blood, unpredictability and a great outcome.

This match shows what TNA is all about. This is a must watch to any wrestling fan around the world.

Lockdown 2006: X Division Title Match: Sabu vs. Samoa Joe

3 of 18

Samoa Joe came to into this match with three things. The X Division Championship, a TNA undefeated streak and a bad attitude.

Sabu came into this match with a broken arm, steel chair, a spike and dedication to end Joe's undefeated streak and become the new X Division champion.

This match will go down as a Lockdown classic. The Samoan Submission Machine was on top of his game and had to do battle against a hungry Sabu.

Christopher Daniels vs. Senshi Part 1

4 of 18

Daniels came into Lockdown not knowing who his opponent was. Daniels' opponent was revealed to be his former Triple X partner, Senshi.

These two had a very physical match. It started out as just a fight. A straight-up brawl. The crowd was split between Senshi and Daniels.

Senshi looked great in this return match. He hit Daniels hard with punches, kicks and chops.

Part 2 of this match will continue on the following slide...

Christopher Daniels vs. Senshi Part 2

5 of 18

Here is the rest of their tremendous match.

The match didn't stop on the previous slide. There were more big moves in this match.

Daniels hit a DVD (Death Valley Driver) and BME (Best Moonsault Ever) but only got a two-count. Senshi retaliated with some big kicks and tried a Warrior's Way but to no avail.

Senshi definitely made his TNA return noticeable in this Lockdown classic.

Lockdown 2006: Lethal Lockdown Tower of Doom

6 of 18

    This was insane.

First you see AJ trying to ascend to the top of the cage only to be stopped in his tracks by James Storm and Jeff Jarrett, who grab AJ in a double superplex.

Next, AJ's partners, Truth and Rhino insert themselves into the equation. Truth gets Storm set up in an electric chair as Rhino does the same to Jarrett.

Every wrestler is using every last ounce of strength to stay standing.

Finally, "Wildcat" Chris Harris comes along and powerbombs Rhino and Truth and the domino effect occurs. Each man goes crashing down to the mat. Styles receiving the worst of it.

    Pure insanity. Pure beauty.

Lockdown 2006: Styles in the Lights

7 of 18

AJ Styles and James Storm ascended the structure during the Lethal Lockdown and AJ had Storm set up on a table.

AJ climbed the ladder, but didn't stop there. He kept going in what looks like the rafters and dropped down on Storm and through the table.

Lockdown 2006: Quick Highlights and Recap

8 of 18

Lockdown 2006 had three other great matches but I couldn't find any videos of them so this ought to do the trick.

Lockdown 2006 also had an X Division Xscape Match which Chris Sabin won. That match had some amazing spots and really shown what the X Division is all about.

In the posted video you can watch as one participant, Chase Stevens, takes out all the competition by landing a huge moonsault off the cage and onto all his opponents.

Lockdown also had "The Monster" Abyss challenge "The Instant Classic" Christian Cage in an instant classic NWA World Heavyweight Championship match. Cage retained in a brutal battle against The Monster.

The Lethal Lockdown featured Sting's Warriors vs. Jarrett's Army. AJ Styles pulled off a phenomenal spot where he hung from the lights above and landed a splash on a member of AMW.

Lockdown 2007: AJ Styles Falls off the Cage

9 of 18

The thing that made the 2007 Lethal Lockdown memorable was this moment.

Kurt Angle punches AJ Styles and AJ falls off the top of the structure and lands hard on the floor below.

Watch the video and listen to the crowd's reaction. That was an amazing spot in the match between Kurt Angle and "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles.

Lockdown 2008: World Title Match: Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle

10 of 18

Here are some parts of the Lockdown 2008 World title match between challenger Samoa Joe and champion Kurt Angle.

This match was very physical and evenly matched. Both men are masters when it comes to submission holds and mat wrestling. This was a good match all the way through.

This match will be remembered for Samoa Joe defeating Kurt Angle and winning his first TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Lockdown 2009: Suicide Dive

11 of 18

This match was an X Division elimination match. The last two guys were Suicide and Sheik Abdul Bashir and when there's only two guys left, the rules change. The last guys have to battle it out and one of them has to escape the cage for the victory.

Suicide took an amazing suicide dive off the cage and onto the arena floor, crushing Kiyoshi and security below.

Suicide's suicide dive was enough to win the X Division Championship.

Lockdown 2009: TNA World Title Match: Mick Foley vs. Sting

12 of 18

"The Hardcore Legend" and "The Icon" would battle it out for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. You can never go wrong by using two legends.

This match was great. TNA rated it the sixth-best match of 2009, though. I don't know what the top five were, but if you do know or find out, please share.

Until then, sit back and enjoy the clash of two legends.

Lockdown 2009 Quick Review

13 of 18

Lockdown 2009 was a great show.

The Xscape match was a great display of the X Division. The match had amazing spots with Suicide, Jay Lethal, Consequences Creed, Kiyoshi and Sheik Abdul Bashir.

There was an awesome three-way tag team match between LAX, MCMG and No Limit, which was won by the Guns.

Matt Morgan vs. Abyss had plenty of blood. Abyss used both glass and tacks in this match. The Monster stabbed Morgan in the forehead with a large shard of glass.

Another unbelievable moment was when Awesome Kong was able to pull off a front flip off the top turnbuckle. Amazing.

The Lethal Lockdown pitted TNA originals, Jeff Jarrett, AJ Styles, Daniels and Samoa Joe against The Main Event Mafia. After the Lethal Lockdown, TNA fans saw the debut of Bobby Lashley.

The main event was "The Icon" Sting vs. "The Hardcore Legend" Mick Foley. Foley made history in winning the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Lockdown 2010: Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Anderson Part 1

14 of 18

This was a heated feud coming into Lockdown 2010.

    Angle vs. Anderson.

Angle felt like Anderson kept disrespecting him for weeks on iMPACT! so they had this match. This was definitely match of the night and maybe even match of the year. This was great.

Angle and Anderson went back and forth, to hell and back. Angle could've won the match early on twice but decided to stay in the cage and beat the hell out of Anderson. Great match by both guys.

Lockdown 2010: Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Anderson Part 2

15 of 18

Here is Part 2 of the Lockdown match of the night.

I already spoke of the heated feud between the two, and I don't want to take up too much time and I just want you to enjoy the match.

Lockdown 2010: Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Anderson Part 3

16 of 18

Here is the conclusion to the long and brutal match of the night.

Did you expect him to win?

Kurt Angle showed that he is the best in the business with that big moonsault off the top of the cage and onto Anderson below. That will forever be remembered.

Lockdown 2010: Jeff Hardy Takes out Beer Money

17 of 18

Before I start talking about this, I want to talk about the match before Lethal Lockdown.

The Pope vs. AJ Styles for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

I couldn't find a video of it but, the match was very good and had some good spots. The match could've gone either way.

AJ jumped off the cage at Pope but crashed and burned. This was a really good match and you should check it out if given the chance.

    Back to Lethal Lockdown.

Jeff Hardy came out last for his team and went straight after Beer Money Inc. Hardy and both members of Beer Money climbed the cage and it didn't end well for any of them.

Hardy beat the hell out of both of them with a Singapore cane then set up a table. Hardy proceeded in climbing a ladder and landing a splash on James Storm, crushing him through a table.
