This is a multiple part slide-show series I will be writing here on Bleacher Report to get all of you Bleachers in the WrestleMania Spirit! I really just want to do something creative to get you guys flamed up once a month in anticipation for this year’s WrestleMania.
Since there is roughly one month to go till WrestleMania XXVII in Atlanta, Georgia, I will be pumping out one to three slide shows a month, with the last of the installments out the day of WrestleMania. If you want to view the previous slideshow(s), please click on the links below. If not, keep on reading! Let’s get started on this!
Here I am Bleacher's with yet another installment in the Getting In The WrestleMania Spirit Series! Like I said in my last slide-show, this will be the penultimate part of the series, with the last installment coming out this Sunday, which is obviously the day of WrestleMania. So, please stay tuned for that!
Anyway, you know the memo here! It's pretty much the exact same slide-show like last weeks, except this is about WWE Championship match promo's at WrestleMania rather then World Heavyweight Championship match's. So, without further ado, let's get started on this!
Chris Jericho vs. Triple H comes in at No. 10 because....well...there was no pre-match promo.
First off, there was a pretty big lack of buildup (I thought anyway) between Jericho and Triple H for their WWE Undisputed Championship at WrestleMania X8. It was basically Hunter winning the Rumble, and then Stephanie added in to make the feud more interesting.
With that being said, there was no pre-match promo for this match which really sucks because promo's tend to excite most fans up before the match starts.
This wasn't really a promo for a match. It just was a recap for the WrestleMania press conference, and the heated confrontation between Hunter and Cena.
That being said, at least this match had a promo. I thought that the buildup between Cena and Triple H could have been much better.
Still, this was not a bad promo. It got me pumped up to some extent for the Cena/Triple H match.
The buildup to this match was just great. The promo was pretty decent, with it focusing on just once aspect of the buildup. I would have liked it if they showed Eddie actually winning the title and progressing the promo from their, but by all means, this was really good too!
A very effective promo showcasing the strong buildup for the match!
Short and sweet. That's how I would describe this promo. I found it to be decently short, and it was to the point as well.
There was no special music or anything like that, but it still worked. It got me pumped up for the Lesnar vs. Angle match in such a great way when I witnessed the background through the promo.
Props to the WWE crew for this.
Man, I love the music towards the end here. It's an epic kind of tune, and just a super hero type of music. Hah! See what I did there?
But getting back on topic, this really was a great promo. The feud between Cena and JBL was highlighted well, and the video effects such as changed color and shading were used to perfection.
I found this promo to be really different the most others, because it was narrated by Randy Orton, then heel himself.
It worked just great, and it was great to hear a superstar actually narrating the entire promo. The change to dark colors when Orton came up on the screen were splendid, and it really showcased a different perspective of the feud.
Did I mention how epic the WWE editing crew made the brawl look (despite Vince McMahon being there) towards the end with AC/DC playing in the background? That was just epic!
Man, I can't believe it's been one year since WrestleMania XXVI. The landscape of the entire WWE has changed so dramatically, that it's just downright incredible.
Speaking of downright, this promo was just downright awesome. It gave us a good background of the match, and also the buildup was showcased nicely. The music that starts around 1:07 is just really great!
Man, I just love this promo. I'm not usually the type of person that would like long dramatic music scenes, but for some reason, here it just works.
The focus for this promo was more based on the careers of both men then the buildup. That being said, the buildup was really showcased nicely towards the end as well.
Man, I just love the Booraye theme in the beginning. It just fits there.
Anyway, this has to be one of my most favorite promo's of all time. I love the shift in music when Orton appears, and the shading and video effects were just splendid.
This is a promo that really got me excited for this match.
Please tell me you saw this coming? Not only is the greatest promo listed on this slide-show, but it is argued by many fans that this is the greatest pre-match promo in any professional sport in history. And to be quite honest, I couldn't agree more with that statement.
When I watched this promo the first time, I nearly jumped out of my seat. It had to be the greatest thing that WWE had ever created.
Even today, when I watch this promo, it INSTANTLY reminds me of the great Rock/Austin feud.
It has everything that promo needs. It successfully shows the highlights of the feud, and it also manages to be fast paced with a song that everybody can enjoy.
WWE really outdid themselves while making this promo. It was an absolute masterpiece.
It was an amazing feud. And to top the feud, it was an amazing promo.
So there you have it folks! Keep in mind that my last installment of this series will be out this Sunday! If you want to know what it is, make sure to stick around because it's going to be great and nostalgic!
Also, if you want to know my personal predictions for WrestleMania this year, make sure to tune in around Friday time where I will post my personal picks for WrestleMania!
Until then my fellow Bleachers, this is Ray Samuels signing off!
