Alexander Is Vital Pass-Rusher for Bills
Alexander came into Week 8 leading the NFL with nine sacks.
After spending most of his career as a reserve player and special teams specialist, Alexander is in the midst of a breakout season in his first year with the Bills. He not only started the first seven games in 2016 but also earned at least a half a sack in each contest.
Heading into the Week 8 matchup against the Patriots, opposing head coach Bill Belichick called him "one of the best players we’ve seen all year," per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.
"He’s had a great year," Belichick said. "[He’s] been a tremendous run player, pass player, every special team, impact player in the kicking game and impact player on defense, hard to block, rushes inside, rushes outside, good tackler, great motor. He’s really good."
This is clearly high praise for a player who has bounced around the league over the past decade, spending time with the Washington Redskins, Arizona Cardinals and Oakland Raiders.
