Terrelle Pryor Agrees to 1-Year Contract with Washington Redskins
Terrelle Pryor made his successful transition to wide receiver in Cleveland. Now he'll try to see if he can make it work in Washington. Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Pryor signed a one-year deal with the Redskins.
Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio added the deal will be worth $8 million. According to Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports, reported the contract contains a $6 million base salary and $2 million signing bonus.
Washington announced Pryor's signing on Friday, per Stephen Czarda of the team's official website.

Making Sense of 2026 NFL Draft's Worst Picks 😨
Pryor, 27, recorded 77 receptions for 1,007 yards in 2016. He was the Browns' most reliable offensive target amid a series of injuries depleted the roster.
Pryor bounced around three organizations in 2014 and 2015. He was released by the Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals as a quarterback before opening himself to a position change and landing in Cleveland as a wideout. The Browns cut him in September a week after he made the 53-man roster, but they re-signed him in December for the season's final stretch.
"He's one of the best athletes in the NFL today," Darrelle Revis told reporters. "For him to switch positions like he's done, and actually excel in a position swap, I tip my hat off to him. He's a Pittsburgh guy as well, so it's good to see us Pittsburgh guys excel in the NFL. It's great. He's an awesome player."
While he's still less two years into the transition, there's reason to proceed with caution. Pryor turns 28 in June and is still learning a position he never played before.
"I just know they told me they were waiting, so that's all I had to hear," Pryor told reporters of his agents halting contract talks. "It's my first time, I've been cut so many times. I wasn't good enough. Now it's my agents' turn to do their jobs and put me in the best position for myself. I believe in them and trust them."
We've seen receivers with more physical skills than Pryor flame out due to their inability to pick up on the position's nuances. Speed, leaping ability and size can only go so far. Pryor has made more progress than anyone possibly could have expected at this point, but he still makes mental errors and has struggled with drops at times.
Three of the last four games of the 2016 season saw Pryor held under 40 yards receiving.
Still, Pryor at the very least has promise of a long-term piece. He's listed at 6'4" and 223 pounds and has multiple 4.3-second 40-yard dashes on his resume.
The addition of Pryor does provide some respite in what's already been a difficult offseason for the Redskins. They lost a pair of wide receivers when Pierre Garcon signed with the San Francisco 49ers and DeSean Jackson signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Behind the scenes, the Redskins announced general manager Scot McCloughan was being released from his contract on Thursday.
Pryor brings some stability and production to the wide receiver position. He thrived in a Cleveland offense that lacked playmakers and consistency at quarterback, so pairing him with Kirk Cousins should lead to bigger things in 2018.
