NBA Finals 2017: Warriors vs. Cavaliers Game 4 TV Schedule, Live Stream and Odds

Andy BaileyJun 9, 2017

After an electrifying come-from-behind victory in Game 3 of the 2017 NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors lead the Cleveland Cavaliers 3-0 and look poised to a pull off a complete postseason sweep Friday.

Now 15-0, the Warriors are outscoring opponents by a ridiculous 16.1 points per 100 possessions, according to the league's official site. In the Finals alone, their net rating is plus-13.3.

This level of team brilliance has rarely, if ever, been seen before. And the chance for the first-ever 16-0 run through in an NBA postseason is in play.

Warriors

Keep Feeding Curry and Durant

Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant are averaging 28.7 and 34 points respectively in the Finals. Among the 170 individual postseason runs in which a player appeared in at least 10 games and averaged 25 or more points, Curry and Durant's 2017 True Shooting Percentages (TS%) rank fourth and first, according to Basketball Reference.

Needless to say, this duo is on fire. And it doesn't look like the Cavs have any answers on defense. And that shouldn't be seen as a slight. No team has had an answer for the team with two generational offensive players.

As long as the Warriors keep feeding these beasts, and there's no reason to think they won't, expect another offensive showcase from one of the greatest teams ever assembled.

Unleash the Death Lineup

Much has been said and written about the Warriors' so-called Death Lineup over the past two seasons. With few reasons left to rest, it may be time to unleash it for extended minutes.

In Game 3, the Warriors starting lineup of Curry, Klay Thompson, Durant, Draymond Green and Zaza Pachulia was outscored by 36.1 points per 100 possessions, per the league's website. Swap Pachulia for Andre Iguodala, thus creating the Death Lineup, and that net rating jumps an almost unfathomable 129.5 points to plus-93.4.

In Wednesday's contest, the starters played nine minutes, compared to the Death Lineup's seven. If Golden State bumps the latter's time on the floor up a bit, it's tough to imagine the Cavs keeping pace.

Cavaliers

Get Anything from Players not Named LeBron or Kyrie

Kevin Love is 17-of-45 (37.8 percent) in this series. Cavs not named LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Love are a combined 28-of-92 (30.4 percent). Deron Williams alone is 0-of-11.

To even stay close to the juggernaut that is the Warriors, you have to get more from your role players.

Following the Game 3 loss, James said Golden State has the most firepower of any team he's faced, as seen on NBA TV:

The "A++" basketball LeBron talked about in that presser isn't possible without help from all over the roster. If guys like Kyle Korver and Williams can't get going, the load is simply too much to handle for two players.

Avoid the Late Collapse

This one is obviously easier said than done, but the Cavs have to be better in the final frame of Game 4.

Through the first three matchups of the series, Golden State is outscoring Cleveland by 21.7 points per 100 possessions during fourth quarters, according to the league's website. And the Warriors' individual stars are shining much brighter.

So far, in Finals fourth quarters, Durant is averaging 10.3 points with a .879 TS%. Curry is at 4.3 PTS with a .611 TS%. The former, in particular, has been absurd.

If you stretch his fourth-quarter numbers into per-36-minute terms, he's at 43.5 points, 12.6 rebounds and seven assists.

There's a much different picture for Cleveland.

LeBron is averaging 3.7 points in fourth quarters, with a TS% of .463. Kyrie is putting up 4.7 points on .485 TS%. Both are clearly worn out by the end of these games, and you can't blame them.

This key obviously ties in with the first. If the Cavs' top two guys could get more help from the rest of the team in the early portions of the game, they may have more left to give when it matters most.
