Super Bowl 2015: Latest Patriots vs. Seahawks Player Comments and Media Day Hype
Marshawn Lynch angers the globe, Rob Gronkowski sings Katy Perry and reads erotica, Kam Chancellor salsa dances and Bill Belichick reveals a little about himself—when it comes to stuffed animals.
It must be Super Bowl week.
The 2015 Super Bowl media day was a circus similar to those that came before it. At the U.S. Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona, the tight-lipped New England Patriots and confident defending-champion Seattle Seahawks traded verbal spars as reporters dove deep into the question manual.
Where to start? How about with the enthusiastic Gronkowski, who was asked to read an excerpt of a novel and sing some Perry, who will perform the halftime show, as FanSided's Twitter captures:

Counteract that with Lynch who, well, was in his usual form:
Meanwhile, Chancellor got his groove on while teammate Michael Bennett stressed the importance of beards:
Since everybody continues to wonder, NFL Network has observers covered in the Belichick-stuffed animal department:
Believe it or not, there were questions and answers about Sunday's showdown, too.
One of the biggest stories centered on Seattle wideout Doug Baldwin, who had to know the reporters would not go easy on him just one week removed from yelling at them after the NFC Championship Game.
Baldwin, Seattle's leading receiver with 66 catches for 825 yards and three scores, must face one of the best corners in the game Sunday when he lines up against Darrelle Revis, the league's No. 4 corner at Pro Football Focus.
For his part, Baldwin sounds confident about an obstacle many have failed to overcome:
New England's defense does not have it easy no matter which light shines on the matchup.
Look at Lynch, who in the NFC title game rushed for 157 yards and a touchdown. Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork explained the violent nature of "Beast Mode"that his unit will need to match every step of the way:
That said, the Patriots do not exactly lack for confidence.
Tom Brady sounds ready for an encounter with the "Legion of Boom" thanks to revelations offered by a former member.
Perhaps the most underrated factor of Sunday's game, Brandon Browner spent three seasons with the Seahawks before joining the Patriots this past offseason. After nine games in New England, Brady says the veteran corner has helped him prepare for the matchup:
Browner himself was the subject of controversy Tuesday after earlier comments in which he suggested the Patriots should target the injuries of Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas.
Sherman, though, told onlookers he is confident his former teammate did not mean any harm.
"He was just caught up in the moment," Sherman said, per ESPN.com's Mike Reiss. "He didn't mean any malice. It's one of those things. We know him as a person. Sometimes he exaggerates a little bit, but we know who he is."
The calm, confident demeanor seems to be the calling card for the Patriots this week.
Just ask running back LeGarrette Blount, who will attempt to match Lynch blow for blow:
"Obviously they're a pretty good defense. They were good enough to get here, they were good enough to get here last year, so we are going to put a plan together to hopefully make sure we come out victorious," Blount said, per Reiss.
Blount is up to task if his last game is any indication considering he ran 30 times for 148 yards and a trio of scores in the AFC Championship Game.
So much for that quarterback duel and potential passing-of-the-torch moment everyone wants, right?
Understand that every player and coach from both sides will have more to say in the coming week now that media day is out of the way.
While entertaining, the media day is one-half celebration and one-half a way for all involved to blow off steam before things become really serious.
If there is one lesson to take home from media day as the Super Bowl inches closer, it is that both teams come with plenty of big-game experience and are more than ready for one of the most important championship encounters in recent memory.
