Manchester United manager David Moyes is poised for a £77 million spending spree before the transfer window closes on Monday, one newspaper reports on Saturday.

The Old Trafford boss has seen a number of targets slip by this summer since succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson, but he will not be without new signings once the window closes, says the report.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has also been stifled in the transfer market, but that could soon change with Julian Draxler linked with the Gunners in one report.

But who else is making the news in the back pages on Saturday? Read on to find out more.

Moyes is about to embark on a quadruple assault on the transfer market with a £77 million spend before the transfer window closes, claims Neil Custis of The Sun (subscription only).

The Manchester United boss has seen one offer for Athletic Club Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera rejected but is preparing to trigger a £31 million release clause for the Spaniard.

Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi is also on Moyes' wishlist before the transfer deadline passes and a £10.25 million bid has been made, claims Custis.

The Scot will also return to Everton in an attempt to prise Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines from his former club with a £36 million deal still on the table.

Arsenal boss Wenger has made a late bid for Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler, reports John Cross of the Daily Mirror.

The Gunners have also been offered Brazil international Kaka by Real Madrid, according to the report.

According to Cross, Arsenal are offering £40 million for 19-year-old Draxler, but the Bundesliga club are looking for a further £20 million before considering a deal.

Schalke signed Kevin-Prince Boateng from AC Milan on Friday, and Arsenal are hoping the move for Draxler can be forced through before the transfer window shuts on Monday, claims the report.

The Gunners have opened talks with Lille over a possible return to London for former Chelsea midfielder Salomon Kalou, says Simon Jones of the Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, Chelsea striker Demba Ba could be loaned back to Newcastle United if the Tyneside club pay up £3 million as part of the deal, claims John Cross of the Daily Mirror.

Winger Christian Atsu completed his £3.5 million move from FC Porto to Chelsea on Friday and will, immediately, be loaned to Vitesse Arnhem, while the Blues have rebuffed Ajax's attempt to take Marco van Ginkel on loan, reports Simon Jones of the Daily Mail.

Liverpool lead the chase for Chelsea winger Victor Moses, reports Adrian Kajumba of the Daily Star.

The former Wigan Athletic player only joined the Blues a year ago, but has failed to make an impact on the first team.

The Reds will see off the challenges of Everton, West Brom, Southampton and Schalke to land Moses on a season-long loan deal for which they will pay the player's wages and a £2 million fee, according to Kajumba.

In the same newspaper, Gary Jones claims Liverpool are considering a move for Montenegro U21 international Deni Hocko, who has been dubbed the 'new Andrea Pirlo' while playing for Buducnost Podgorica in his native country.

Dominic King of the Daily Mail says Liverpool are on the verge of a double defensive swoop by landing Mamadou Sakho from Paris Saint-Germain and Sporting's Tiago Ilori.

Gareth Bale might not have completed his move from Tottenham to Real Madrid, but his boots have, reports the Daily Star.

The Wales international is poised finally to sign his contract with the Bernabeu club, with Pete Jenson of the Daily Mail reporting that the transfer will be £78 million to ensure Cristiano Ronaldo's world-record £80 million figure from 2009 is not broken, and to keep the former Manchester United man happy.

England midfielder Gareth Barry will take a pay cut to ensure his loan move from Manchester City to Everton goes through unhindered, claims Chris Wheeler of the Daily Mail.

Fulham are considering a second bid for Southampton midfielder Jack Cork after an initial offer failed, reports John Cross of the Daily Mirror.

Sunderland are on the verge of completing a season-long loan deal for Swansea City midfielder Ki Sung-Yueng, says Riath Al-Samarrai of the Daily Mail.
