Peyton Manning Rumors: New York Jets Must Land Legendary QB to Win Super Bowl

Justin WeltonJun 3, 2018

Mark Sanchez leads the New York Jets to a Super Bowl victory. Do you ever see this happening with how he has played in his first three seasons?

Sanchez is merely an average quarterback that isn’t capable of winning a Super Bowl. With all the talk about Peyton Manning, the Jets must land the legendary quarterback if he isn’t in an Indianapolis Colts’ uniform next season if they want to win a Super Bowl in the Rex Ryan era.

They are still in the discussion, according to ESPN.

It’s simple: If they don’t get Manning to anchor their quarterback position, the Jets won’t win a Super Bowl until they find a legit franchise quarterback.

The “Sanchise” is nothing close to being a franchise quarterback in the NFL. He has tossed 51 interceptions in three years in the league; he hasn’t posted a completion percentage of over 57 percent.

If it wasn’t for the slant pattern, Sanchez would be completing at a much lesser rate. Somehow defenses continue to allow that pattern which makes no sense whatsoever.

I digress.

His numbers aren’t worthy of being a Super Bowl champion is the point I’m making.

Sanchez’s confidence is low on a high-confidence team; it wasn’t a fit from the very beginning for the USC star.

Ryan and the Jets love to open their mouths just to attempt to back it up with their play. Sanchez doesn’t talk up his game, which is great, but he also doesn’t talk with his game.

New York needs somebody who can rise to occasion while being a true leader.

Manning would bring the Jets stability on the offensive side of the football—if he is 100 percent healthy, of course.

If 2011 proved anything to fans across the world, it’s the fact that Manning dominated on a mediocre team. Taking one player off of a squad shouldn’t result in a two-win season but that’s exactly what we saw.

Manning has passed for 54,828 yards in his career with a completion percentage of 64.9. Those are some of the best numbers in the history of the NFL.

The Jets were an average offensive team in 2011 with Sanchez at the helm. They ranked 21st in passing and 22nd in rushing. Manning’s ability through the air will open up holes for their rushing attack while allowing their defense to stay off the field.

Manning would bring the missing ingredient that the Jets have been lacking in their back-to-back AFC championship appearances. He is the quarterback that can not only get the Jets to a Super Bowl, but win the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
