NFL Power Rankings: Rams, Eagles and Steelers Are Most Disappointing in NFL

Gabe ZaldivarOct 5, 2011

Join me in shaking your head and slapping the respective wrists of the St. Louis Rams, Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers

The sad note for NFL fans is that these are not the only disappointments in the NFL. We will get to the others another time.

For now, it's time to concentrate on the teams that have been so horrible that they are taking the fun out of Sundays, and we just can't have that.

These teams have taken a perfectly good opportunity and squandered it. Whatever the opposite of grabbing the bull by its horns would be, this is it.

1. St. Louis Rams

Things were going to be different this year. The Rams had gone out and spent responsibly and wisely. They had the vets and weapons to compete.

Then Steven Jackson goes down and all hell breaks loose. The Rams look as bad as they did when they lived out in Los Angeles. Stick Jim Everett under center and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

2. Philadelphia Eagles

Michael Vick has decided that Dream Team ethos wasn't such a good idea. Come to think of it, spending some of their summer money on a vet linebacker or two would have been wise as well.

This is not nearly the defensive juggernaut we thought it would be. The bigger issue is Vick, whose health is again being questioned.

The Eagles better start rattling off some wins in a hurry or fans will demand someone's head to roll. And that will be none other than Andy Reid's

3. Pittsburgh Steelers

Well, I didn't see this one coming. The Steelers offensive line was the first domino to fall. Now the Steelers have a banged-up Ben Roethlisberger, hobbled Rashard Mendenhall and no solution in sight.

We then see James Harrison go down with a broken face. If the Steelers are not on fire, they are heating up very quickly.
