Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Jim Caldwell Is a Sock Puppet

If you could summarize Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Caldwell in one word: awful.

Just awful.

Caldwell’s performance in their heart-breaking 17-16 loss against the New York Jets is much like former Boston Red Sox Manager Grady Little’s performance in the 2003 ALCS against the New York Yankees.

Jim Caldwell is clueless. He has that blank stare on the sidelines and shows no emotion besides, “Jesus, I am so overwhelmed.”

I have never seen an NFL coach with an amazing quarterback on his roster (Peyton Manning) handle the game in such a poor manner.

Caldwell had no clue what he was doing in all phases of the game, whether it was clock management or being able to adjust the team’s game plan—which is necessary in every single game.

The biggest question mark and the “what the hell” moment of the game was when Caldwell called a timeout with 29 seconds left with the Jets driving and on the Colts' own 32-yard line.

The Colts were up 16-14 and he could have just let the clock wind down.

But no.

Caldwell wanted to give the Jets more snaps.

The Jets were on the 32-yard line and it would have been a 50-yard field goal, which is no chip-shot for Jets’ kicker Nick Folk.

Folk has been awful all season long, and in his entire career, with long-range field goals. He has made two of five for 50-plus yards, while making seven of 14 in his career.

There was a 50 percent chance he would have missed it, and chances are he would have. He has never been in such a pressure moment in his career as he was last night.

Hell, he barely squeezed in the game-winner, which was only a 32-yarder.

Jim Caldwell is nothing but an assistant coach. He cannot handle being an NFL head coach, of even being a head coach at all, for that matter.

Caldwell was previously head coach at the collegiate level at Wake Forest.  There, Caldwell was a disgusting 26-63.

With such an awful record, how on Earth would anyone even consider this clown to be an NFL head coach?

I’m sorry to say it, Colts fans, even though I love seeing you guys lose and crumble under pressure like always, but Caldwell is not an NFL coach.

Jim Caldwell is an empty sock puppet.
