Well, the game of the replacements, Raiders vs. Seahawks, has come to a close.
True to form, not a lot of starters played in this affair, none of the Raiders' starters did, and only three 'Hawks did.
What we did learn, is that if our starters go down, there's some decent backups waiting.
First of all, is Andrew Walter. After his disaster under Art Shell, a lot of people gave Walter up as too slow, and looked like a scarecrow.
Tonight, he had a nice game, with 162 yards, on 16 completions. No Touchdowns, but no picks. Did have one fumble, and seemed bothered by the 12th man, the Seahawks call home field advantage, but everyone seems to have a few false starts. Or questionable refs. You be the judge.
Some of the wide receivers may have saved their spots. Chaz Schilens, for example, had 3 catches for 49 yards, not bad on the short field. Arman Shields, as well, made a couple catches, 27 yards, and had a deep ball that glanced off his fingers.
Our running game, as usual, had a McFadden highlight. He got 50 yards on only four carries, and 23 of those yards came on one nice move, that had him a shoe away from a Touchdown. I can't wait to see him go to town on Monday Night Football.
The biggest question, for the running game, is what will happen to Louis Rankin. he had 28 yards on seven carries, but missed out on punching it in in Washington, where him and Tui both played college football. Will Oakland carry four RBs? Or will they hope to lock him down as a practice squad player? We'll know soon enough.
As for our other players, I did notice a larger amount of penalties. Again, false starts, and pass interference calls aren't going to help players. I was impressed by Underwood, who we just recently signed. He led the team with 6 tackles, as well knocking down one pass.
However, Underwood, Brown, and Sanchez all got flagged for Pass interference. You might take it as a good sign, they didn't do it twice. Maybe they learned in a hurry, it's not a smart move.
You do have to feel the Seahawks did lose something in this game, as WR Ben Obomanu went down with a broken Clavicle. Roughly translated—ouch.
For a game, that ended with a seven-point window, I'd say Oakland did well, considering it was scrubs duty.
Come Saturday, it'll be interesting to see if anyone saved their jobs.

It's really a tough situation--The whole Rankin deal. I mean, he had some great runs, and looks like he could be a big ("big" as in good)player in the future. But on the other hand, that would make 4 RBs; so probably not.
It's funny how you forgot to mention Trevor Scott. He played very well. Besides that, good Read!

My bad, D. Sorry. Although, was it just me, or do you think he was actually offsides on that one call?

A good read, Raider Card.
You didn't mention WR Todd Watkins who made the 53 man roster. I also have to agree with Raider D, it was funny that you forget DE Trevor Scott. QB Andrew Walter had a decent night but he did miss the above mentioned Todd Watkins for one touchdown pass and an overthrow of an out pattern in the end zone that would've resulted in another touchdown.

Call it a gut feeling....but I didn't think Watkins was in trouble for making the team. You figure, we're already short in the WR field, we're missing one WR for the year, and Walker is suspect until he proves it, Watkins was a no brainer.
Of course, I thought Rankin was too.....but then, Rankin is going into a position that we have 3 great backs already....again, hoping we put him on the practice squad, just in case.

You mean that one where he almost got a sack? Yes, he looked offsides to me, but I think it would've been a sack even if he didn't jump, which would've been cool.
I also find it funny how you chose a picture of Jamarcus, since we all know he won't get cut.

Call it the foreshadowing of the Seahawks game....he didn't play, hence, watched from the sidelines.

Actually, one other funny thing....number 43 in that picture. 43, according to the Raiders website, is Chris Wagner....maybe 43 from last year?
