Which Players Did Enough To Survive The Oakland Raiders' Roster Cuts

Well, the game of the replacements, Raiders vs. Seahawks, has come to a close.

True to form, not a lot of starters played in this affair, none of the Raiders' starters did, and only three 'Hawks did.

What we did learn, is that if our starters go down, there's some decent backups waiting.

First of all, is Andrew Walter. After his disaster under Art Shell, a lot of people gave Walter up as too slow, and looked like a scarecrow.

Tonight, he had a nice game, with 162 yards, on 16 completions. No Touchdowns, but no picks. Did have one fumble, and seemed bothered by the 12th man, the Seahawks call home field advantage, but everyone seems to have a few false starts.  Or questionable refs. You be the judge.

Some of the wide receivers may have saved their spots. Chaz Schilens, for example, had 3 catches for 49 yards, not bad on the short field. Arman Shields, as well, made a couple catches, 27 yards, and had a deep ball that glanced off his fingers.

Our running game, as usual, had a McFadden highlight. He got 50 yards on only four carries, and 23 of those yards came on one nice move, that had him a shoe away from a Touchdown. I can't wait to see him go to town on Monday Night Football.

The biggest question, for the running game, is what will happen to Louis Rankin. he had 28 yards on seven carries, but missed out on punching it in in Washington, where him and Tui both played college football. Will Oakland carry four RBs? Or will they hope to lock him down as a practice squad player? We'll know soon enough.

As for our other players, I did notice a larger amount of penalties. Again, false starts, and pass interference calls aren't going to help players. I was impressed by Underwood, who we just recently signed. He led the team with 6 tackles, as well knocking down one pass.

However, Underwood, Brown, and Sanchez all got flagged for Pass interference. You might take it as a good sign, they didn't do it twice.  Maybe they learned in a hurry, it's not a smart move.

You do have to feel the Seahawks did lose something in this game, as WR Ben Obomanu went down with a broken Clavicle.  Roughly translated—ouch.

For a game, that ended with a seven-point window, I'd say Oakland did well, considering it was scrubs duty.

Come Saturday, it'll be interesting to see if anyone saved their jobs.
