Goal Keepers : Who's the Best in the Premier League?"
We have successfully completed the first eight editions of "Who Is The Best Of The Premier League?", with some interesting results. The previous editions were based on Central Midfielders, Strikers, Defensive Midfielders, Left Wingers, Right Wingers , Right Backs, Left Backs and Centre Backs
Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres (Didier Drogba being the other striker), Micheal Essien, Ryan Giggs, Cristiano Ronaldo, Bakary Sagna, Patrice Evra and Nemanja Vidic (with Ricardo Carvalho being the other defender) have so far been selected as winners.
In this instalment, we shift our focus to the goalkeepers of the league.
I have picked some contenders, then the readers will hopefully pick the best out of them. In the process, hopefully we will create another healthy debate, so here goes...
Edwin Van der Sar (Manchester United)
If anyone ever came close to Schemeciel's heroics for the Red Devils, it was the Dutch keeper.
Van der Sar has displayed great reflexes, proving his ability as a shot stopper.
Is he the Best?
Petr Cech (Chelsea)
He's often claimed to be the world's best keeper, and his early seasons at Chelsea were extremely rewarding.
Is he the Best?
Pepe Reina (Liverpool)
Well, Reina is a good keeper, and he plays an important part in keeping Liverpool part of the Top Four.
Is he the Best?
David James (Portsmouth)
Age is something that hasn't affected the James' game. He is still very quick and a reliable keeper. He played a big role in Pompey's FA Cup victory, last season.
Is he the Best?
Excuse me for not including Manuel Almunia, Tim Howard, Rob Green, Paul Robinson, or Brad Friedel due to the lack of time and space but you can vote for ANY keeper who you think deserves your vote.
