Smackdown: The Future Is In Our Hands? Part 2

LewisApr 28, 2010

Hey Bleacherholics,

Two weeks after the orginal Smackdown: The Future In Our Hands was published I have returned after a brief hiatus. The reason i have not written for a while was that I was unable to write for several days but not to worry I'm ready to write this sloberknocker of an article now.

As the draft took this past Monday, I have to alter some of the WWE superstars which I was planning to write about. In this second part of the two article series, I will continue to talk about the Future of smackdown. Some of the Wrestlers have been showcased on Bleacher Report many times whilst some have never.

I will begin with the son of hall of famer Cody Rhodes. I may get alot of heat for this but I feel Cody Rhodes was the better half of Legacy, Even though I feel Ted dibiase is great, I feel Cody Rhodes was the better heel. Cody Rhodes has won Tag team gold on three occasions and has even won the OVW Heavyweight Championship; which has been held be the likes of CM Punk and John Cena. As of the WWE Supplemental Draft, Cody is a Smackdown Superstar. Now what is he actually going to do? He can't become Intercontinental Champion unless he turns face or Drew Mcintyre drops the title to a face. To add to the fact that most times when a tag team split one is normally a face and the other a heel. So Could we see a Cody Rhodes face turn? My prediction, I feel he can go to the top of Smackdown alongs WWE can stop loving the 'Big Guys'. I'm no Fortune teller but I See gold in his future, weather its Intercontinental or World Champion is the question.

As I was talking about One person normally becoms face and one becomes heel out of a tag team split, the next person is no different. Kofi Kingston was the babyface of the tag team of him and CM Punk. Kofi Kingston has become a United States, Intercontinental and Tag Team Champion. The only championship missing from his credentials is World Champion. Everyone thought that Kofi Kingston was WWE's next big thing when he fueded with Orton but after that fued died out, Kofi was lost in the shuffle of RAW. Kofi was the person out of the entire WWE who was desperately in need of a draft to Smackdown. On Smackdown I can't help but not see a fued with him and CM Punk, possibly for the World Championship? I feel Kofi Kingston will become a main eventer very soon most likely after Christian gets his long awaited push to super-stardom.

From great United States Champion (Kofi Kingston) to the longest regining Champion in WWE history! MVP. He has held the Tag Team Championship along with two holds of the United States belt. Now rewind your memory to WWE Draft 2009. MVP was Drafted to the flagship show and to top that to face the best heel on RAW at that time, Randy Orton. Alot of people felt he was distined for main event competiton, Now he has been drafted to Smackdown, what can we hope for? I feel he will most likely fued with Drew Mcintyre for the Intercontinental title then maybe a push to top tier level? I for one am not sure who Smackdown will utilize him. Maybe a fued for the intercontinental belt or maybe a high profiled fued from one of the four/Five Main eventers; You must be thinking for main eventers left on Smackdown. Well, The Undertaker, CM Punk , Rey Mysterio and Big Show and to add the rising profile of Jack Swagger.

This article seems to be biased on Tag Teams. JTG Has split from his partnet Big Shad Gaspard. I must one of the only people who feel JTG was the spark of Cryme Tyme. The guy has more potential than Shad I feel, JTG can work the mic, check. JTG Has the moveset, check.  Shad only has the moveset although he is developing his mic skills at this point in time I feel JTG is the stronger out of the two. Does anyone remember the match featuring Chris Jericho and JTG. That match was pretty good also Chris Jericho made JTG look awesome. If WWE had more faith in Shad why would you Have JTG in with the best heel in the business?

The last wrestler of this article is none other than Captain Charisma himself: Chrisitan. Although Christian isn't any thing as a young star, I felt that i had to include him. At age 36, he still hasn't got he much anticpated and desvered World Title within the WWE. Some people may disagree and say Matt Hardy. I'm a fan on Matt Hardy but even I must say his Mic Skills aren't amazing. Christian has the whole package and still yet to be push. One of the most decorated Tag Team Champions in WWE history, a former ECW, three time Intercontinental, Euorpean, Hardcore, Light heavyweight and within TNA won the top Championship on two occassions. Now is Christian time to shine. When he was drafted to Smackdown on Monday, He directly looked at World Heavyweight Champion: Jack Swagger and motioned the title around his waist plus during his interview after the Draft was confirmed he said the following:
"Jack Swagger look out I'm coming for the World Heavyweight Championship."

So Does this mean Christian will get his long awaited push to stardom, Kofi Kingstons carrer saved, MVP to revitalize his carrer and Cody Rhodes future is the palm of Smackdown's hand? Lets hope so as we look forward to the aftermath of the draft in Smackdown's favour.

All comments away!
