Oakland Raiders Acquire QB Jason Campbell & Draft Recap

With all of the trading being done, throughout the draft the Oakland Raiders stayed calm and went with their picks. Oakland finally had an excellent draft.

Round 1 they took LB Rolando McClain.

Round 2 they took DT Lamarr Houston.

Round 3 they took OT Jared Veldheer.

Round 4 they took OT Bruce Campbell.

Another Round 4 they took Jacoby Ford WR/KR.

Round 5 they took DB Walter McFadden.

Round 6 they took LB Travis Goethel.

Round 7 they took DB Jeremy Ware.

Another Round 7 they took DB Stevie Brown

Raiders made really great choices with their draft choices. They got all the pieces to there puzzle. The Silver and Black are back, a lot of people are hating on the Raiders and that's what we love everyone hating on the Raiders baby! Oakland will prove all the critic's wrong.

The Raiders sent their starting middle linebacker, Kirt Morrison to Jacksonville as the draft got heavy in Round 4.

Oakland selected one of the draft's fastest players, wide-out Jacoby Ford of Clemson, with the pick acquired from the Jaguars. It was a good deal for both, Raiders got a fast WR and KR which they lacked last year. And Oakland is stacked at LB + with acquisition of McClain it was a no brainer. & Jacksonville got a pretty decent LB who is a tackling machine.

Also throughout the draft Raiders Traded a future 4th rounder in 2012 to the Washington Redskins for QB Jason Campbell. Raiders got an excellent price for a starting QB. Campbell may not be the answer for long term, with the Raiders giving him a 1 year extension throughout the 2011 season. But Campbell is an upgrade from Russell who hasn't yet proved himself worthy in this league.

This leaves the Raiders with Campbell, Russell, Gradkowski, Frye, and Boller at QB. They will all compete for the starting job, my guess is it will be Campbell and Gradkowski in the top 1 and 2. With the hiring of Hue Jackson for Offensive Coordinator, he will help improve Campbell and the others.

Campbell has been a decent QB with his time at Washington, but with a different offense every year and no O-Line that is hard for any QB to deal with. With Campbell in Oakland and now with a new and approved O-Line with the hiring of Hue Jackson, Raiders should be in the talks about an AFC West Crown. Not mentioning the up-coming players on offense and defence that we already have. This is just the start of a new Raider Decade Team. Come 2010 it will be a hole new ballgame.

So move over SD, Denver, and KC with the Raiders filling in holes on defence and adding key players to their offense, I sense the Raider Nation is ready to be unleashed, come September their is no escaping the Black Hole!
