Oakland Raiders Targeting a DB, RB, and Depth In The Trenches
I was just on Raiders.com watching a video of Tom Cable breaking down our first three picks and hinting towards what we might do withĀ our final six picks of the NFL Draft.Ā After the second day of the draft was completed Head Coach Tom Cable spoke with the media as well as former Raiderette Jeanette Thompson.Ā In both interviews he said that we will be targeting more depth along the trenches as well as depth for both offensive and defensive backfields.Ā Sounds like a good plan.Ā
We could use guard to come in and push Cooper Carlisle for his spot.Ā We also could use some depth at CB.Ā Nnamdi and Chris Johnson are the starters with Stanford Rout being our only other CB who provides quality depth.Ā With the release of Justin Fargas it's no wonder why we would be targeting a RB as well.Ā Here are a few players that I wouldn't mind us picking on the final day of the NFL Draft.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap šø
DT Cam Thomas North Carolina
A lot of the Raider Nation thought we should use our 2nd rounder on this guy.Ā The 6'3" 330 lbs DT would give us that run stuffer we need in the middle.Ā I know we already drafted Lamarr Houston but Tom Cable said that he will play DE for us.Ā That still leaves a hole that Cam Thomas would fill.Ā We sure would have a very dominant defensive line if we can somehow land big Cam Thomas.
CB Akwasi Owusu Ansah Indiana
His name alone fits the bill as an Oakland Raider.Ā He has good size at just over 6' and 209 lbs.Ā He ran a 4.47 second 40 yard dash at the combine and a 4.36 at his pro day so he has the speed to play man in our defense.Ā He is very strongĀ with 21 reps of 225 lbs which is very impressive considering he did that with a torn labrum which he had surgery to repair.
RB Jonathon Dwyer Georgie Tech or RB Anthony Dixon Mississippi State
Both guys are around 230 lbs and would serve very well as a short yardage back.Ā With Fargas gone we could use some quality depth at RB.Ā I'd rather have a bruiser like one of these two rather than a smaller, speed RB.Ā
OT Bruce Campbell Maryland
Why not.Ā I would have lost my mind if we took him in the first two rounds. Now I wouldn'tĀ mind at all if we landed the very raw prospect who has all the potential to be a great tackle some day.Ā I didn't think he'd slip this far after being projected to go in first or second round.
Well there you have it Raider Nation.Ā If we are targeting a RB, DB, a defensive and an offensive lineman, then who do you have in mind?
