Do The Jets Really Have a Chance To Go To The Superbowl?

Okay it was fun Rex Ryan, you had your moment in the sun and your chance to brag. My hat is off to you.  Your team snuck in the back door to the playoffs with wins over opponents that packed it in for the season. So you were lucky to even make the playoffs, but you were not picked to even win a game. When you came out and said the Jets should be favored to win it all, everyone laughed.

Then you beat the Bengals on the road, but its the Bengals. Sure they had a great year but any team can get lucky once but there was no way you were going to beat the Chargers. The Chargers are much better than the Bengals and the hottest team in the NFL.

So okay you went in to San Diego and took the Chargers out but Norv Turner and the Bolts always gag in the playoffs so its no big deal that the Jets won and if not for a suddenly inaccurate FG kicker they would have won, but it doesn’t matter there is no way your going to beat the Colts, right?

The truth of the matter is the Jets are playing great ball. They have a bend don’t break defense and they are not intimidated to play on the road. They have a sick running game and rookies that are playing like seasoned veterans. With a number one defense and a number one rushing offense there is good reason to think they will be in every football game. Oddsmakers have them at +7.5 this week and that seems high but what about a play on the money line? The Colts have had some holes and maybe the Jets can exploit them.

Everyone keeps waiting for Mark Sanchez to explode but he has done the exact opposite. The Coaching staff has put him in a position to succeed and he has done just that. So with great defense, great running and a QB that is not making mistakes what is stopping the Jets from playing in the Superbowl? Just the Colts, the best team in the AFC this year with an MVP at quarterback.

The real question is, will that be enough?
