NFL Playoffs Divisional Round Predictions & Vegas Lines
Arizona Cardinals (57) at New Orleans Saints (-7)
Saturday, January 16, 4:30 PM EST
After surviving the highest scoring game in postseason history, Arizona will hit the road in defense of its NFC title. Quarterback Kurt Warner is coming off of a remarkable performance (5 TD passes, 4 incompletions) against the Packers. However, a shaky defense could be in over its head on the road. The top seed in the NFC will try to regain its dominant form after dropping its final three games of the regular season. New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees (NFL-high 34 TD passes) has plenty of weapons to work with to attack the Cardinals on Saturday. For a franchise that isn’t used to being in the playoffs, the home atmosphere will enable the Saints to win a shootout against the Cardinals.

Cardinals vs. Saints NFL Divisional Playoffs Prediction: Saints 34 – Cardinals 31
Baltimore Ravens (44) at Indianapolis Colts (-7)
Saturday, January 16, 8 PM EST
Baltimore has plenty of confidence after last week’s dominant effort at New England. Ray Rice (6th in NFL in rushing) will provide a big challenge to the Colts defense after gaining over 150 yards against the Patriots. A Ravens defense that is 3rd in the league in total and scoring defense will try to disrupt the Colts offense. Indianapolis will try to flip the switch for its first meaningful game in over a month. MVP Peyton Manning is just 7-8 in the postseason and head coach Jim Caldwell has never guided the club in a playoff game before. It won’t be easy but the Colts passing game will be the difference at home.
Ravens vs. Colts NFL Divisional Playoffs Prediction: Colts 23 – Ravens 19
Dallas Cowboys (47.5) at Minnesota Vikings (-2.5)
Sunday, January 17, 1 PM EST
After winning a playoff game for the first time in 13 years, a lot of the pressure has been lifted off of the Cowboys heading into Minnesota. Quarterback Tony Romo is playing some of the best football of his career while the defense has jelled together in recent weeks. Now, the pressure is on the Vikings and Brett Favre to win in the postseason. Despite a tremendous regular season, Favre will be judged on how he delivers when everything is on the line. With plenty of All-Pro talent on both sides of the ball, Minnesota has some other weapons to lessen the pressure on Minnesota’s quarterback. The Vikings pull this one out to stay perfect at home in 2009.
Cowboys vs. Vikings NFL Divisional Playoffs Prediction: Vikings 27 – Cowboys 24
New York Jets (42.5) at San Diego Chargers (-9)
Sunday, January 17, 4:40 PM EST
With the top rushing offense in the NFL and a defense that leads the league in total, scoring and passing defense, the Jets are a difficult machup for most opponents to deal with. Rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez didn’t make any mistakes at Cincinnati last week but he will face some pressure to keep pace with Phillip Rivers on Sunday. The Chargers have rolled to 11 straight wins and have won in the postseason in each of the last two years. Rivers has been the top rated quarterback in the AFC in each of the last two seasons. In the end, the quarterback edge will enable San Diego to advance at home.
