LeBron James Reportedly Won't Waive No-Trade Clause for Cavaliers
LeBron James is reportedly planning to stay with the Cleveland Cavaliers until the end of his contract.
According to Chris Haynes of ESPN.com, James won't waive his no-trade clause now or at any point during the 2017-18 season. He can be a free agent next summer if he declines his $35.6 million player option for 2018-19.
New general manager Koby Altman will have some tough decisions to make heading into the season after the Cavaliers struggled to keep up with other top contenders in the arms race this offseason.

Report on Harden's FA Decision
Per Ramona Shelburne, Dave McMenamin and Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com, Cleveland attempted to acquire both Paul George and Jimmy Butler but was unsuccessful. Meanwhile, Kyrie Irving has since requested a trade and would like to be sent to one of the Minnesota Timberwolves, San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat or New York Knicks.
"Irving was tired of being Robin to James' Batman," the reported stated. "... Irving felt the time had come to take his destiny into his own hands. He wanted to be the centerpiece of a team."
While James not wanting to waive his no-trade clause is a positive sign, there are still plenty of question marks for the organization going forward.
Additionally, there is no guarantee the four-time MVP stays beyond next season. Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer reported in June that the Los Angeles Lakers or Los Angeles Clippers could be possible destinations and speculation has only grown.
With James not willing to waive a no-trade clause, the Cavaliers could be left with nothing at this time next year.
