Dareus took to Twitter to alert people of the alleged hacking:

Mike Rodak of ESPN.com provided the team's view:

The 26-year-old Alabama product has failed to provide the return on investment the Bills expected after signing him to a six-year, $100 million contract extension in September 2015. He's tallied 59 combined tackles and 3.5 sacks in 17 games since the start of last season.

Dareus had registered 28.5 sacks across his first four years to establish himself as one of the NFL's premier interior linemen after Buffalo used the third overall pick on him in 2011.

Off-field problems and injury issues have plagued his current season.

In August, he received a four-game suspension from the NFL for a second violation of the league's substance abuse policy. He was previously banned one game in 2015 under the same policy.

His return to the lineup was delayed after he suffered a hamstring injury. Then, after Dareus appeared in one game, he was forced back to the sidelines with a groin ailment. He made his second return last Sunday in a victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

As for the latest issue, Jeremy White of Buffalo's WGR Radio stated he's usually cautious to believe claims of hacking, but he's buying Dareus' defense in this instance:

It's one of several high-profile apparent hacks of NFL-related social media feeds this year.

In April, offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil watched his draft stock slip after a Twitter post appeared to show him smoking out of a gas-mask bong. In June, the NFL's Twitter account got hacked and posted an erroneous message stating Commissioner Roger Goodell had died.

Dareus and the 5-5 Bills return to action Sunday for a clash with the 2-8 Jacksonville Jaguars.
