Khan Comments on Bradley's Future

Friday, Oct. 28

Jaguars owner Shad Khan cast some doubt on Bradley's future, telling the Florida Times-Union's Ryan O'Halloran, "Actions speak louder than words. Very little for me to say."

Khan clarified later that he doesn't intend to make a coaching change right now, per O'Halloran.

O'Halloran and Hays Carlyon of the Florida Times-Union wondered if Khan will keep Bradley partly out of frustration in order to send a message:

The final score of Thursday's game doesn't tell the full story of Jacksonville's performance. The Jaguars were down 27-0 at halftime after gaining 60 yards as a team. Things weren't much better defensively, with Phillip Supernaw's 30-yard reception in the second quarter highlighting Jacksonville's poor effort:

Bleacher Report's Jason Cole saw a lack of commitment from the Jaguars players:

While the second half helped paper over the cracks, it's looking increasingly clear Jacksonville isn't headed in the right direction under Bradley. In his three-and-a-half years, the Jaguars are 14-41 and have failed to show much—if any—progress.

Bradley inherited a bad team that needed to be rebuilt from the ground up. Nobody expected the 50-year-old to deliver immediate results.

At the very least, though, Jacksonville should be competing for the playoffs in 2016. The AFC South is one of the worst divisions in the league, and the Jaguars have amassed a number of promising young stars as a result of their consistently poor records.

The longer Khan sticks with Bradley, the more Jacksonville is likely to stagnate and wind up right back where it was before Bradley arrived.
