Malik Jackson, Jalen Ramsey Ejected vs. Raiders: Latest Details and Comments

Jacksonville Jaguars lost two players due to ejection on Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.

Defensive tackle Malik Jackson was ejected Sunday after picking up a pair of unsportsmanlike-conduct penalties, while Jalen Ramsey was ejected for fighting.

The 26-year-old Jackson hurt his team with two 15-yard penalties on the same play, as Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com described:

Later in the fourth quarter, Ramsey was ejected after a post-play scuffle with Raiders receiver Johnny Holton. The rookie first-round pick has shown a lot of fire in his first season in the NFL, although actions like this are not ideal.

Jacksonville was trailing for most of the game, and it's clear the frustration boiled over for both players. Jackson has zero tackles in the game before being disqualified while Ramsey had two.

While the response for fighting has been around for years, Jackson's automatic ejection is part of a new rule in 2016 that punishes players who pick up two personal-foul penalties in one game. It was nicknamed the "Odell Beckham Rule" after the New York Giants receiver earned three such penalties in one game against the Carolina Panthers last season.

Jackson is in his first year with Jacksonville after spending his first four seasons with the Denver Broncos. While both players could be a big part of the Jaguars defense going forward, they will have to remain composed to help the team.
